PART 1: How To Choose Your Main Topic For Your Book

It’s important to let you know that not all topics of the books you see on Amazon are created equal.
Some topics will naturally make more money than the others. What’s the reason for you? It’s not farfetched. I will be showing you to game-changing strategies as we go along in this 7 days FREE tutorial.

But I have good news for you. One, profit is relative. Two, you can make more money with your eBooks on Amazon KDP.

Let me ask you: How much do you really want to make through KDP? For some folks, $500 monthly is good enough. For others, they need multiples of that, maybe $1,000, $1,500 or even $5,000 (and they will work much smarter and harder for that).
In your goal and target for monthly earnings, you need to understand that some niches are super competitive like the “weight loss” niche, game niche etc. Sure, they are topics and niches with big potential for earnings. But you’ll likely earn less at the beginning because you still don’t have a solid reputation and you’re only writing your first book in this niche. That’s why I said money is relative.
There are a lot of factors to consider before diving into a niche: -

1. Are you interested in this topic? –
2. Is the competition too much? –
3. Can you write a better and more enriching book in that niche? –
4. How much money do you really need to make?

When you have right answers to these questions, it will determine how far you go in a given niche. After this, you need to then figure out what topic you will focus on.

How To Find The Right Topic To Write On In A Given Niche

The way I find my topic is pretty simple. First, I start with the biggest niches. These are 3 biggest niches:

1. Health and Fitness
2. Money / Wealth &
3. Relationships.
Under these 3 niches, there are categories and sub-categories that I can target. E.g. Under MONEY, there is the topic of MAKING MONEY ONLINE. Just like weight loss, this is a really big topic. I can’t just come up with a book about “making money online or home based business.” I need to be more specific and direct at my main target. What kind of making money online topic do I want to come up with? How do you go about this? Let me show you.

Here is how it looks in the image attached.

Next, I go to Business and Money category. There I will find other sub-niches like Accounting, Biography & History, Business Life, Economics, Education & Reference, Entrepreneurship & Small Business, Finance, etc as seen in the image below:

Under these sub-categories, there are still other sub-sub categories. For instance, under the Entrepreneurship and Small business, there are sub-categories like Bookkeeping, Entrepreneurship, Franchises, Home-Based, Mail Order, etc as seen in the image below. Click on the Sub-category Entrepreneurship and Small business to access the other sub-categories under it.

From the screenshots about the top 20 best selling books in this sub-category of Home based business, what are the mostly found topics there? What do you notice?

The topics that I found are mostly about:
1 – Amazon Selling
2 – Kindle Publishing
3- Passive Income

Right? With this knowledge, you can now consider and re-consider your options.

Do you want to write about Amazon Selling or Kindle Publishing or any other topic under the umbrella of Home Based Business? That decision is up to you. Personally, if I see that at least 5 books in the top 40 with the same exact topic, then I will write about it. (This has really worked for me and may other ballers on KDP). That’s the advice I will give – I hope you follow it.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion to the first part of this training, I have a strong advice for you. I want to admonish and encourage you not to get caught up by every little detail. Just choose a niche, and then find some sub-categories and smaller subtopics that you can really compete with and stand out with good profits, then target them and flood books there. It’s the best way for a beginner to compete.

DO NOT just jump into writing books about mega huge topics. Narrow it down. After narrowing down, still narrow down and narrow down and narrow down and narrow down until you top the narrowest down or downiest narrow. Lol. It’s the only really way you can compete for now.
