The bible wine is not same as todays wine, wine producers also should be put into consideration when talking about this topic. The Hebrew word for “wine” is yayin and the Greek is oinos. The Bible “wine” is grape juice that may or may not have fermented. The type of wine we have today has more alcohol than wine in the first century because of the yeast added to it.
Those time of Christ, the form of fermenting highly alcoholic wine had not yet been invented. Jesus’s opponents accused Him of being a “wine-drinker” its called oinopoteis in Greek, because Jesus came freely eating and drinking grape juice not like John the Baptist who restricted himself from eating and drinking. (Matt 11:18–19; Luke 7:33–34). These people who accuse Jesus appear to blame him for drinking alcohol. But, if we check the wedding at cana in (John 2). It stated that the wedding guests “have well drunk” a large amount of oinos wine. “well drunk” in Greek is methuo meaning to fill or make full, most times the word means “drunk” depending on the context. Translators of the bible mostly used methuo as “drunk” in many contexts which depicts taking intoxicating wine. The reference of the book of John to the guests having “drunk well” shows how the feast was short considering the expression in John 2:10 to mean that the guests were “drunk.” Jesus only provided them with “good wine” as though received from the grape but, it was a miracle. The reference to Jesus’s wine as “good wine” indicates that Jesus made fresh grape juice available. This is the evidence of the miraculous act of God. To see how the scripture speak against strong drink, let's read Lev 10:8-10. Ephes 5:18 only encourage us to be filled with the Holy ghost, thats the only intoxicating wine that brings value to us. In Bishop oyedepo word "it keeps whinning us" thats the essence of its value

Funny thing is I made "Bible" wine some weeks ago and I still got drunk from drinking it. I made it the simplest way possible...i added a small soon of yeast to at least 1liter of fruit juice and I let it ferment for a couple of days. One thing was sure, and that is when I drank the fermented product, it was alcoholic enough to get me drunk and then some.

Those of you who like to pretend that God endorses your lies which you pretend is meant to cover up what you perceive in your minds as God's shortcomings, need to be warned that you do yourselves more harm than good in your endeavours. Lying on the name of God or on behalf of God, depending on how you choose to see it, is a sin. Remember, God hates the lies told in His name.

Nice one.

Many don't like to hear the Truth because it doesn't appease their flesh, but the truth is that the Truth must be told regardless because only the Truth can set people free, never lies!

God bless.

Where you there during the time of Jesus? How do you know if the wine was not alcoholic? You think yeast is recent? Why would the bible speak about getting drunk if there was no alcoholic wine at that time? Your assumption that yeast wasn't used or wine wasn't fermented holds no water. Do you realise the pyramids in Egypt can't be replicated because the technology or technique used by ancient men isn't known. If they could build such unravelled structure till date, na alcoholic wine them no fit make?

Check the meaning of "wine" in the dictionary. Wine has always been an alcoholic beverage.
All those non alcoholic drinks that are popular now, eg. Pure haven, valeta, eva etc. Are not wines.. They're fruit drinks or juice.

The op is talking nonsense as usual. In the Bible days wine was already alcoholic. It is even recently we started hearing of non alcoholic wine. There are even some verses where Christian's were advised not to be drunk with wine but be filled with the spirit. Please don't say what you don't know
