jjhnja44es:it's very costly, better to build on new ground and people move gradually than having a city being demolished. you spend a lot of money paying and relocating people. and as a government, you will face court cases and damage reputation. |

jjhnja44es: This na true o, but sha to demolish too would require a lot of funds, maybe even more funds than was sunk to put up existing structures already in place. Solution na make every government complete any project they start before they leave office. To come dey clear existing uncompleted city strucures that was built with citizen's money, when they never were put into use in the first place would be like paying money to dig a hole and then changing your mind and paying again for the unused hole to be filled. 1 Like |

This is what Lagos should be doing to ease transport but corruption will not allow with all the IGR. They will keep buying rubbish BRT buses and be singing 'Lagos is working' |

This project is one of Donald Duke's major visionary projects that has left to die a natural death. Projects like Tinapa was envisaged to become the new sun city in South Africa. But behold the site is now a mocrey of itself. Apart from Donald Duke, which other Cross River State governor initiated a major project and completed it, non! Ayade promised "spaghetti flyover" and "super highway with six lanes". Go to Odukpani junction, the site for the spaghetti flyover and see for yourself. Calabar is a land of glory gone at least for now with cultism threatening peace and investment. Calabar people and indeed Cross Riverians should hold their leaders to ransom. |

PARACLETOS: Cross River started a free fall into decline after their oil wells were taken from them and given to Akwa Ibom in a calculated move by federal authorities to prevent them from falling into Cameroonian sovereignty. I don't think there are enough economic activities within to generate the needed IGR to provide them with what their government would want now. Donald Duke was lucky but also ingenious. |

I laugh when I see my fellow Nigerians playing politics with the mind of others. we've gone past the days where we are fooled with 100years project and vision 2070, visions and projects that might be abandoned later. lagos state started her own during the era of fashola, where are they today, federal government is still working on her own, up till date not yet completed. let's stop celebrating yet to work or futuristic project that might not take place or end up as abandoned project. a governor will approve a project just cuz he wants extort the citizens taxes through it, another will come and say this is not what he has come to work on or this is not the plan he has for the state. no continuity of plans or projects and we keep celebrating wasted funds. enough is enough. I am not writing this cuz I'm hating any political party or biased, I'm doing this cuz it saddens my mind when we celebrate the failure of our leaders. peace be unto everyone 1 Like |

jjhnja44es:Cities are naturally scattered. It is up to the govt to be fair in the judgement of route for such expensive ventures. Most people in govt only understand how to take major projects to their village or through their own village. |

That stuff is death. The last moved of that thing should be in 2018. Till date if you think am kidding call any calabar base dude who knows what’s happening around him and ask when last the monorail was use. Even though we’ve had whole lots of convention and activities in that master piece edifice and dignitaries stays in the Tinapa’hotel which the monorail was meant to take them TO&FRO from the convention centre. Until Nigeria as a whole are ready to learn the ethics of maintenance please they should stop wasting the tax money on this kinda projects. My own cent. |
