Panic As Lagos Landlords Put Houses For Sale Over Red Rail Demolition by Ibusho(op): 8:33pm On Jan 19, 2021
The 37km North-South rail project tagged the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line is expected to cut through Ebute-Meta to Agbado in Ogun State, moving more than one million passengers on a daily trip. TOLA ADENUBI reports that with the impeding demolition of buildings just a month away, some affected property owners have started putting up their houses for sale, among other panicky decisions.

The first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) popularly called the Red Line is expected to run through Oyingbo to Agbado in Ogun State, cutting through residential and office buildings in Mushin, Yaba, Ikeja and other densely-populated locations in Lagos State.

In a bid to reduce the impact of the demolition (which is just a month away) of structures along the right of way of the Red Line, the Lagos State Government through the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), engaged two consulting firms, Nolasimbo Consulting Engineers and Partners Limited, and Global Impact Environmental Consulting Limited to identify Project Affected Persons (PAP).

So do you have the real numbers of people the train will be transporting in a day?

Many advanced Japanese rails transmutes around 2 Million a day and are way more advanced than that. We're using range of trains that is ten times below the standard in modern rails and we're quick to attribute figures for trains that are not bullet trains or super sonic speed trains. It's pure lies. Nigerians don't make such research so they don't know. This one didn't get past me cause I study these innovations regularly to know it's a lie just seeing that part.

We don't need a bullet train for such a short journey.

You too see am. Train that is just on a route moving only nonstop at peak periods, na that one go convey 1million passengers daily. How many people leave on the mainland axis and work around Àgbàdo?
Will people stop taking buses (brt and other commercial buses) to wait for a train that arrival/departure time might not be regular?

The more reason it's not a 1 Million passengers a train service. Do you believe that this train service would hardly convey 10,000 a day?

Let's work the maths

Let's say it's 5000 passenger train per trip.

How many trip would it undergo to git a Million passenger in a single journey?

The nation needs sharp minds. Nigeria should look for us they don't listen. I'll show you already underneath my bed urban rail transportation system and teach this knuckle heads how to execute real time projects from start to finish with increased capacity.

Let's work with work? you just assume figures and you say let's work with it? why not use the stats you have at hand, go to train station and get your stats then use to do whatever calculations you want.

5000 passengers per trip, you think 5000 is 500 huh?

Funny.

Another way to loot and make more citizens to suffer. After demolition of the houses the project would not be completed in the next few years

Besides a massive ship, there is no transportation meduim that can move 5000 people per trip!!!
Not bus, not train, not plane!

It is not fabu sir that's the capacity they want to build. Its does not necessarily mean 1 million people will ply it.

Lets stop with all the negative sentiment for once and appreciate the effort.

Thank you
