What is restructuring Nigeria mean? Those advocating restructuring Nigeria need to come up with a clear definition of what it means because I don't know what they are talking about. I hope and pray those advocating restructuring Nigeria are not talking about going back to the composition of Nigeria after independence of Nigeria in 1960. All states in south South geopolitical zone reject without any room for compromise , the structure of government of Nigeria based on what nigeria used to have before civil war broke out in 1967 What l like is dividing Nigeria into 36 countries . Every body goes their own way. That will gain support among Nigerians, especially those of us from South South states . |

Jonathan should talk like a stateman. Which one is unity? Since when is fulani and ijaw culture uniform? Abi no be from uniformity we get unity? |

Jonathan always reasoning against common sense. His penchant to speak blindly about unity gives one the impression that the "Azikiwe" in his name makes him reason just like Nnamdi Azikiwe who was going up and down talking about a non-existent one-Nigeria which his own kinsmen ironically became the greatest victims. |

For those who are ready to reason and not react based on emotions, GEJ is right. If you restructure nigeria to regional governments, the current problem bedevilling the country will rear its ugly head in the regions due to the number of ethnic groups. In delta state alone, the tension between ijaw, itshekiri and urhobo is still there. We dont hear so much abt it because of d noise from d 3 major ethnic groups - hausa, ibo n yoruba. But when naija returns to regional govt, the hostilities will commence in full force at d regions and will surely be deadlier than anyone cud imagine. At that time, the already weak Nigerian army may not be able to confront the multiple crisis from the regions. I think we need to review our constitution. Let certain tins be well defined. Buhari really showed us how useless our constitution is with his style of appointments and governance |

Slackerpenguin2:If oil stops 2moro will Nigeria not survive?? That’s the way u shud think if u want to diversify. America and most great Nations don’t depend on just oil. That’s laziness and the world will soon leave such countries behind. |

Ok please please, sellouts like GEJ shouldn't be speaking. If the south south has no one to speak let them all shut up so the country breaks naturally. |

obembet:That is not what he said.He support restructuring, but he more concerned about the fact that Nigeria should equally do away with things that divide us and focus on areas that unit us, so as to attain a better restructuring. If this hatred lingers on till after Nigeria is restructured, then every region would definitely have something to hold against another region ,which will lead them to start discriminating against people from other regions , tribe or religion. Note that, If we still have these loose-nuts, we call our leaders- who are very good at inciting weak minded Nigerians against other Nigerians when things don't go their way, then what stops them from doing same under a restructured Nigeria?. Except they are flushed out and new liberal people are voted into power, it will remain divided with these crops of devils we call leaders. I have also come to realized that 50% of Nigeria's problem is our constitution and weak institution and the remaining 50% is from our leaders and us as followers. We need to change the way we reason, as long as we want to live together. I think this country should be divided between the North and South.Only then can we have peace, becos people of like minds and Ideology are together. |

Environment produces the kind of people that live in it. Good environment produces most people with good behavior, while bad environment produces rascals. For instance, you can not compare someone brought up in VGC to someone brought up in Ajangbadi or Ajegunle. If we restructure Nigeria we will develop our regions the way it will restructure our minds. Those who develop towards science and technology their minds will be restructure towards science technology, those who develop towards terrorism will have their minds restructured towards that, those who build strong institutions will have their citizens law abidings. Nigeria environment is out major problem. If we build public toilets at certain places in our cities no one will be standing on roadside urinating, if we pave every corners of our cities that you won't even see sands as it's done in other countries no one will drop rubbish anyhow, there are countless things that are lacking in Nigeria that if they are in place most our minds will be restructured. Those who are hailing Jonathan should think again. Jonathan is a politician, and every politician puts his mouth where it will favours hm. |

romenna:What you fail to understand is that between 1960 and 1966 when we practised the kind of structure we are asking for now through the call for restructuring all these Ijaw vs Ishekiri rivalries were non existent. Social injustice brought about the disunity you see in Nigeria today, and the social injustice started as a result of the subversion of the independence Constitution. Only a restructured Nigeria (a return to true federalism which Ironsi destroyed) can guarantee unity. Any constitutional amendment which doesn't return true federalism will create more disunity. |
