In Spanish language Asiwaju means a drug baron and a looter. Google is there for everyone

I know Tinubu to be an intelligent person and I want to believe that all the apprehension he is facilitating about his candidacy is to divert attention from the real candidate

I refuse to believe that he is foolish enough to believe he can be president of Nigeria

If I am Tinubu, I will not utter a single word but rather do anything I want to do to help in the background.

This is Nigeria and as a politician, you have to deal with the matter with sense and not just be like every other person that can speak anytime they want.

Have you seen Atiku, Kwakwanso, El-Rufai, Ganduje, and etc talk about it?

That tells you every big players are watching their words so I don’t see any reason why you guys want Tinubu to talk dandan on every matter.

If he talks tho what does it change? If Tinubu say Fulani herdsmen should leave our forest, what will happen?

Will Buhari suddenly summon the military on Tinubu’s order or will the SW governors just follow his command and evict the herdsmen?

In the West, we should put on our thinking cap and look for lasting solutions to issues instead of wasting time with showing power on the internet and wasting all the cards you have.

Again I ask, if Tinubu talk what will change?

IT being what exactly?
IT does not concern Kwankwaso

When Hausa hoodlums burnt property and stabbed people in 2015 Kwankwas o came to Lagos personally to bail them and took them to Kano.

Till date has he returned them?

Was it not El Rufai that made the He who kills a Fulani declaration?

Why did ElRufai and others not bring out bullion vans what was he trying to prove with that action

What about Gbajamiala? Fashola? Aregbesola?

Guy leave story

I do not want Nigeria to continue with this constitution
I want a restructured Nigeria which for me means we are not policed from Abuja and there is resource control of at least 50%

In that scenario I do not care who is president

We do not need to govern anyone. Let us govern Yoruba land as we did under Awolowo

I am asking you a simple question.

If Tinubu talk, what does it change?

Do you want him to talk just because you want him to flex muscle or you want him to talk because you want solutions?

We have Osinbajo, Fashola, Fayemi, Aregbesola, and etc that are in government in one capacity or another not speaking, why is it this Tinubu that you guys keep hammering on him to talk?

It’s you same guys that will say Tinubu is not worthy to be a Yoruba leader and it’s you same guys that will always look up to him for leadership to speak in times of need.

You haven’t answered my question tho:
What will it change if he speaks or not?

This is the same problem we have been facing because most of us don’t plan for the future and unforeseen circumstances. That’s exactly why the North is always one step ahead.

Yes, everyone wanted restructuring because it’s the best thing that can happen. But looking at the current realities, I don’t see how you can get a restructuring under a Buhari government before 2023.

Then what will happen when you’ve destroyed any strong man from the South that can wrestle power from the North in 2023? The same Northerners will come into the game and take advantage of the Southern stupidity and the cycle continues where folks from the south continue to shout restructuring without it coming to reality.

We can’t afford to do the same Awolowo mistake which made the Yorubas opposition for long. While Awolowo could achieve a lot during those times due to the system of government, it’s detrimental to play that game of Awo in this current era because to win an election you need the North one way or the other. That is a fact!

Until we can find a solution to dissolve or restructure this union, you need to play the game of politics as it should be played and not be carried always with online noises and sentiments from ignorant minds.

Then hope that we have a strong southerner as president that can undo the many wrongs of this nation once and for all.

The point is ANY person who wants to be called Asiwaju of Yoruba land cannot be silent at this time so we agree that he is not Asiwaju of Yoruba.
Not just Tinubu Buhari should have spoken too.
We are potentially on the brink of civil war and you are asking what difference it would make if a man who reportedly wants to be the next president speaks
IWhen he has spoken in the past he has appeared incoherent e.g he called Obasanjo expired and called for him to be thrown in the trash

I am not one of those clamoring for him to speak however I am pointing out to those who elevate him as a Yoruba leader that he is not such a leader.

He should have spoken a LONG TIME ago about the appointments in the military and that alone is enough for a man of honour to have left the APC.

If these names cant protect south west region then they should vacate their positions.

But he's projecting himself as the leader of the Yoruba race. He's footsoldiers are claiming that he, Tinubu is the political leader of the Yorubas, hence the reason for calling him out.

Obasanjo never hid the fact that his leadership is pan-Nigeria and that's the simple reason why Yorubas hardly call him out on an sectional issue like this.

The simple reason that Tinubu's footsoldiers always see him as the unrivalled leader of the Yorubas in this age makes him prone to be tagged in any matter that concern the Yorubas.

I'm not saying he's the leader of the Yorubas o but parading himself to be the one subjects him to being called out.

Op, you are entitled to your dislike or hatred for Tinubu. But I will have you know that your opinion is worth just one vote on election day, so don't flatter yourself. undecided Tinubu has NEVER at any point enjoyed the support of all Yorubas, and if indeed he will contest for the presidency, his success and victory would certainly not be dependent solely on his Yoruba haters or lovers (alone).

Awolowo enjoyed the overwhelming support of Yorubas during his two attempts at the presidency. What was the result? He lost both times. There was nothing Awolowo wanted more in his political career than to be president of Nigeria, yet the overwhelming support he enjoyed from Yorubas during both times he vied for the position was never enough. Olu Falae also enjoyed the overwhelming support of the Yorubas, yet he still lost to OBJ whom Yorubas scorned.

Now contrast OBJ with Awolowo. OBJ never enjoyed the Awo level of support from his Yoruba ethnicity, yet he has succeeded in achieving what Awolowo sought throughout his political career, TWICE!

So please don't overrate Yoruba support when it comes to the presidency.

If indeed Tinubu's ambition is to become president of Nigeria, then I want to believe that, as a student of Nigeria's political history, he understands how not to go about it (the Awolowo and Olu Falae way). Besides, if he were to succeed, he will not be the president of the Yorubas alone but of the entire Nigeria.

So oga rest, you too rate yourself.

Guy, I never said you aren't entitled to your opinion or dislike for the man, just that on election day your view won't be worth more than one vote. Yeah, I know it sucks, but it is what it is. undecided

And yeah, I feel you're flattering yourself when you make absolute statements like 'Tinubu can never be president', because nothing you exhibit on here suggests that you are capable of influencing such an outcome. Buhari has said and done worse than Tinubu ever said or did, yet he is in his second term as president of Nigeria.

You are free to promote whoever else you would prefer as president, be it yoruba, igbo or whatever. But your dislike for Tinubu's person (on the grounds that he doesn't meet your standard of an ethnic jingoist) is not enough to disqualify him from the race.

Osibanjos destiny is not tied to Tinubu anymore ..but within the south west, he is the one that can win vote across the nation and not Tinubu .But I prefer someone that is strong & credible enough to push for the restructuring of the country through presenting the national Confab of 2014 ..and can go ahead to veto it if our representative decide to reject it . We need a courageous leader that have the progress of this country at heart and can makes changes to the nation without fear or favour .

Don't mind them. They don't understand the dynamics of Nigeria politics. Personally, Osinbajo is my number 1 preferred candidate as well, but realistically I know his candidacy will not fly in the party without Tinubu's endorsement because he lacks the political structure to win any election on his own. He won't even come third in the party primary on his own strength. The same Tinubu they detest so much holds the key to Osinbajo's prospects as president, whether they believe/like it or not. How many people do you see going around campaigning for Osinbajo in spite of his incumbent VP position?
