I was having a talk with a friend about a car I'd love to have which is Lexus IS 250 but when I showed him the picture he concluded that it is LS not IS and I have tried getting an answer from Google but I don't seem to understand...

Please if you are a car expert in the house, please can you please tell me their differences?

IS is Lexus's compact sedan. Competes with the C Class, A4, and 3 series.

LS is Lexus's flagship executive sedan. Competes with the S Class, A8, and 7 Series.

The GS is in-between and competes with the E Class, A6, and 5 series.

Yes, it's similar to the GS. In fact, the ES is why the GS was discontinued this year. It just turned out that most people who'd buy a GS bought an ES instead, haha.

From the start, the lexus GS model did not really sell much unit.

So the discontinuation is inconsequential, but i think they might later bring it back in the nearest future, just like they did to VENZA(though now fully hybrid).

Because the ES was always the smarter option. Most people looking at a Lexus of that size would just get an ES. FWD meant more interior space. Sharing parts with the Camry/Avalon meant maintenence was cheaper, too. Also it was just cheaper to buy in the first place.

Those who'd actually appreciate the GS usually just went with one of the Germans.

I can't see Lexus ever bringing back the GS. The age of sedans is over.

Lexus IS is equivalent to C- Class
LS is equivalent to S-Class
ES is E-Class FWD and GS is RWD

Thats true though.

Especially in the US,most are already going for crossover SUVs,the future of sedans is already bleak.

I personally prefer sedans,they are more stylish and sporty. Just like how phablets are also taking over smartphones size(6"+),while i still so much cherish below 6" devices.

Its just the realities of advancement in techs.

Lexus IS250 is a 6 cylinder engine but fuel consumption is almost the same with Camry 2.4 engine. The only flaw is that it is too low

Yes there are now. Mostly popular is the Lexus HS250. It is a 4 cylinder pure hybrid Lexus. But better soup nah money kill am

I saw the craze for Toyota took hold of the Nigerian buyers and we are now experiencing the emergence of Lexus as the favorite brand due to the fact that used Toyotas are now priced close to Lexus.
Acura has not had the same fortune and Infiniti is out of contention after the experience of users with the FX.

The only 4 cylinder Natural Aspirated Lexus I know is the IS200 99 to 05
