HOW TO GET SAVED
(For Bible references, please use the KJV 1611 Bible. It is the only pure and perfect word of God).

1. Ask yourself this; if I’m to die today, am I 100% sure that I will go to Heaven? If you’re not sure, follow step 2.

2. Acknowledge that you’re a sinner (Romans 3:23). Don’t be self righteous like the Pharisees. Don’t be wise in your own conceit. Sin is anything that is not good you’ve done before. It simply means God is 100% holy, and if you fall short to 99%, you’ve sinned.

3. Understand that there’s a penalty for sin (Rev 21:8 ). Though this verse applies to the a different dispensation. Rejecting Jesus is what sends a lost man to Hell.

4. Understand that there’s a way out (Romans 5:8 ). The story of Jesus. Jesus is God who lived up in Heaven. He came down to Earth to be a man just like you and I. He lived thirty three and half years without committing a sin. Some people were jealous of Him. They framed Him with some phony charges, had Him crucified. He died and was buried. He resurrected and ascended into Heaven. He went through great sufferings and shed His blood on the cross because of sin. Someone has to pay for our sins.

5. Understand that there’s a cure (Romans 5:9). The blood of Jesus Christ.

6. How can I get the cure? It’s a gift of God. It cannot be purchased (Ephesians 2:8-9). Being a good person will not take you to Heaven. Going to church every Sunday will not get you into Heaven. Water baptism will not take you to heaven. In fact, any good thing you do here on Earth will not take you to Heaven. It’s you believing on what Christ did on the cross with your heart.

7. To believe, you first have to repent unto salvation. The word repentance simply means “a change of mind”. Now repentance is usually in 3 categories:
A. In general which means a change of mind. In (Exodus 13:17), Israel repented. They had a change of mind to go back to Egypt. Another example is forsaking sin (eg: drinking, smoking, cursing, fornication, etc). It’s something you do for yourself. Anybody can do that.
B. A change of mind over specific sins you commit in everyday life, which can be constantly repeated. This only applies to saved Christians (1 John 1:9). Another example is when a church has a specific sin, wrong doctrine (Revelation 2:15-16).
C. The last one is repentance unto salvation (2 Corinthians 7:10). This is done once in a lifetime. Salvation in repentance is:
i. Godly sorrow. This is the right one. It simply means “Lord I’m sorry for who I am”. You’ve to be sorry for who you are (a sinner), and not the sin you committed because there are other sins you do that you don’t know yet. Isaiah was sorry for what he was (Isa 6:5). Job was sorry for who he was (Job 42:6). It should be done in a childlike simplicity. When you tell children about hell, it scares them a lot and they usually repent. This is how an adult should react also, just like a child.
ii. Worldly sorrow. This is the wrong one. It is to be sorrowful for things you did. It simply means “I’m sorry I got caught” (Matthew 27:3-5) this is Judas. That’s why some people feel sorry for what they did and commit suicide. Another example is Esau in (Hebrews 12:16-17). It doesn’t matter how long you cry. Repentance is not penance. Repentance is simply (Acts 20:21).

8. Now that you have a change of mind, all you have to do is say it to the Lord according to (Romans 10:9). You have to believe with your heart that Jesus is God because a lot of people don’t believe it. Believe He died for you and me, and only His blood can save us. Christ died for all, but you’ve to apply it to yourself.

Prayer to say to the Lord:
Dear God, I repent as a sinner. I believe that Jesus is God, who died, was buried, and resurrected, so that His blood can wash away my sins. I trust in His blood alone to save me. Lord please save me from Hell, In Jesus name, Amen. (Note: saying this prayer does not mean you’re saved, but it’s you believing on what Jesus did in the cross with your heart).

NB: Salvation is instant. You don’t have to speak in an unknown tongue please. You don’t need any man to lay hands on you.

You don’t have to go to Hell. It was originally reserved for the devil and his angels.

This here is why Jesus Christ warned His followers against the adoption of doctrines and traditions(commmandments) of men.

According to the teachings of Jesus Christ , salvation comes to those who believe Him, Jesus Christ, the New Covenant, ade baptized in Him and eat the Last supper. No matter is given to the state of the heart of the one who believes as the OP suggests since such is found no where in His teaching.
