Obasanjo is the problem of yoruba race of this generation. Tinubu was the first person/governor pushing for the state police and independent power plant right from 1999 when Obasanjo too was the president, but this very vindictive and cruel Obasanjo shutdown the ideas and started using it against Tinubu stating that states cannot generate power but only FG and if state police is allowed, it will be used to rig elections and basically empowers governors with state police.

With state police, opposition parties and opponents will become dead in all the states as the police essentially become official thugs of the various state governors. I hope Nigerians know what they are asking for.

With state police things will get worse! A better solution may be LGA police. Caps can be placed on the number of active policemen each LGA is allowed to have, these caps will be determined by peculiarities like geography, population etc.

The police we have now are they not worse off...police that plant hard drugs (igbo) on people's vehicles, rob, get drunk during official hours, ingest illicit substances, serve as armed security for people of questionable characters, extort, organise kidnapping and above all poorly trained/ uneducated mostly...how low can we go before we realise state police is long overdue.
