Someone would have thought that private universities will increase the standard of education in Nigeria. But they are actually lowering the standards.

Those who failed jamb and failed to get admitted to federal and state universities are the ones in private universities.

I cant pay almost a million per session for 4 years and then still stand on the unemployment line with someone who paid 200k in a federal university.

If you are not getting your education from federal or state university, you are wasting your time and money.

Keep sleeping on a bicycle while riding.

You failed to understand one thing, school does not make any man.

If you are good, you are good.The hustling in naija won't ask you where you graduated from.

The high tuition fee in private Universities is majorly for accommodation and it's more comfortable.

Then you can plan your next phase of life from the day you got admitted to when you would graduate because your convocation date is well fixed.

I have friends who went to both Federal and state Universities and they can't still beat me to my game.

I went to Ajayi Crowther University and I am proud of what I got from the school.

I am an active user on nairaland and I got here about 187 personal written articles since 2015.

A topic of mine "Steps to raise Children with high self esteem" made front page on October 10,2019.
You should know for your article to make front page on nairaland is not cheap.I had 19000+ views till date.

I studied Accounting but I had developed myself into writing for years.

Do you think overstaying in federal, state Universities as an undergraduate due to continuous strike would make you more knowledgeable than any private university graduates?

Life is moving in fast phase and people want to use lesser time to achieve a greater result.

My University mates are doing so well in their field and so many of them works at K.P.M.G.

As a 400L Accounting student,the H.O.D of Accounting from O.A.U known as Professor Ashaolu( he lectures in about 8 Universities as at 2013 I graduated then) taught me management Accounting)

You can ask any O.A.U graduate from Accounting about this Prof.

Life is bigger than your myopic analysis of any school determining your success in life.
You need to wake up bro!

misplaced priority,we don't need more universities right now,the job market is already saturated,instead,the government should encourage establishments of industries,(agricultural related) cottage industries, give incentives to foreign investor's to come in here and invest.

Stop displaying your ignorance here. Don't foreign degree holders stand on the queue in search of jobs? Their fees are even higher than some private universities in Nigeria

Imagine graduating from a glorify secondary school where you are told to kneel down, stop from using a phone, punished for not going to church.

Where is even the job? Once they finish the school unless their parents fix them....they gon be roaming around the street....

So they said about the ones that were created 10-20 years ago. Some of those who attended those schools are going to fill the job vacancies in these newly established universities.

See the bigger picture. There are opportunities for whoever can see, keep improving yourself.

for your information,I am a human resource consultant,I interview them every now and then,some can't even write job application and CV

Can you prove that their certificates are sold? And you think they don't sell certificate in public universities?

is useless after you might undergo all this university with huge amount but there is no Job for you, they are busy creating university than company and firm that can reduce unemployment.

Even if one hundred more varsities are established and the graduates can't find job or the enabling environment for businesses to thrive,it becomes useless.

Private universities in some ways too are creating jobs. Private universities are increasing in Nigeria but sometimes there are some courses you won't still easily find there(eg medical ones).
Cameroon like Nigeria has many universities in its 10 regions. Up to 260+ private institutions as they love education. Same quality with Nigeria though the institution's physical magnitude may not match that of Nigeria and no exam or stress to enter( for many of them). Also, cheaper since it is in cfa.

Universities don't teach you how to catch fish,it only exposes your horizon. Put pressure on your legislators, governors and house of representatives members to make things work. These private universities are there for their own business
