Police who are not ready to work should be sacked, they can't be collecting salary for doing nothing.

Police are not for the masses but to protect the interests of those in powers

They are "nonchalant" and you're still paying them?
Part of our problem is that we don't have balls in this country and allow useless entities to still maintain their positions no matter how bad they are.

We had better disband the police force then. It is better to stay without police than to have them collect salary without working.

They have been misbehaving holding the protest as excuse.
It's just their usual laziness

Someone once sold a vehicle I asked him to repair at a ridiculous sum, then absconded. A friend saw the vehicle already registered by another person. He packed outside a bar.
I quickly went to the police to lay a complaint.
Instead of mobilising and follow me to the site, I was told to go and stand in front of the bar and watch the guy until he comes out then I should give them a call.
That was 2014 before endsars
No one is holy in Nigeria. Nigerians are the most difficult people to govern. With a useless police stricture that favours a particular tribe. Was at a police station two years ago, I couldn't believe how almost everyone in that spacial unit is from the north becus the oga was a northerner.

Nigerians are not ready to fix their country. To fix Nigeria, we need to go back to the foundation of her existence which is faulty. The foundation is fraudulent and anything built on fraudulent foundation can never work. We are all deceiving our selves.

Across the security units in Nigeria, we have embraced studied nepotism and tribalism. People who don't have the mental capacity to lead are the ones leading.

Nigeria is dead. And can never rise until we tell our selves the truth.

And many Nigerians are fraudulent no wonder many countries and institutions around the world add extra layers of sceurty check on Nigerians. Dubai is a recent example. Foolish country.

You can imagine the dumb statement from an idiot politician...

People protest and fight policemen world over, some places it's even a yearly thing, yet the police keeps improving with each protest.

In this 3rd world nation, they are allowed or permitted to be more useless!

You imbeciles wanted the nation to remain cowardly subservient to an abnormally corrupt police model and system... Where is that done?!!

Well, what's even my own sef... Y'all voted these imbeciles into power. Enjoy your backward nation.

The police is demoralised by the nepotism in the system, the non prosecution of arrested criminals if they are from the tribe of the boss in Aso Rock Villa. Poor welfare packages, corruption and greed of the average policeman
Fact. Many have gone into transport. The economy is real.

The politically correct idiot won't state those obvious facts... The reason why 2020 failed all round was because youths protested against police brutality and corruption, as far as they are concerned.

Nnamdi Kanu is wrong! I am starting to think this contraption might be worse than a zoo.
Who would be happy seeing the corpse of their colleagues eaten by some bastard cannibals?!

We wonder what the young children of the murdered policemen will do to the bastards who murdered and turned the corpse of their fathers to Nkwobi or Peppered ponmo (when they come of age)
Especially as the pictures of the ritualists are splattered everywhere online.
There must surely be repercussions for this Dastardly act.
Karma has everyone's address.

No policeman will ever ever be happy seeing that, even in saner climes.
It goes both ways... Most Nigerians have lost dear ones to members of this same police unit. Deaths at the hands of Nigeria police were becoming quite alarming despite widespread reports and complaints. Did the citizens stop paying taxes or did labor go on strike??!

I certainly don't support what paid thugs and dregs of our society did to policemen during that long overdue and needed protest, but that is not an excuse to keep receiving salaries while abdicating your duties.

In any case, poor leadership is what I actually blame... I can't imagine a serious leader allowing his nation get overrun by criminals and low lives.

This is a lie..the NPF is weak, under prepared and under funded. Not because of end SARS protest.

Then they should quit and not accept any salary. Let them eke out a living on their own

If they were not being paid, why did they keep working?!! So, that was enough excuse for them to turn average citizens into their own money bags and ATM?!!.. So, the youths were supposed to fold their hands and keep tolerating a corrupt and criminal police force?!!... Where in the civilized world do policemen get away with murder?!! Where?!!

People who demonize protests against poor leadership and policing are either unintelligent, equally debased and corrupt, or just outrightly selfish.

You made some very good points in this your particular post.
We hope you keep it up.
This is reasonable and mature from you.
A better Nigeria is all we want.

Then let us arm ourselves and defend ourselves, since the police is practically useless.

Stinking Incompetence from FG to all security outfits in Nigeria smells to high heavens.
How can you say the impact of EndSARS is an excuse for avoiding security responsibilities?
Very Lame Excuse
Anyways they should know that nature doesn't accept vacuum and security and self defense is a natural instinct.

Write a lot of grammar all you want but if you were a police officer, I'm certain you would not lift a finger for a people who would maim or kill you at the slightest opportunity.

It's more of a psychological issue. The only way out is to flush the entire system.

It's like reading and understanding is a really tough thing for you, did I ever say protesting is bad? Please read that comment and tell me where I mentioned anything against protests.

Don't mind them, always making excuses for their shortcomings instead of admitting and making changes, they keep beating about the bush and returning to square one....no progress whatsoever

It's only the criminal minded that misbehave that can get killed by jungle justice(though I don't subscribe to such) but the streets is angry and pushed to the wall with the indiscriminate accidental discharge and intentional killings by so many clueless police officers over the years.
