It's not a myth. It didn't work well for me.

Pineapple has always been my favorite fruit in pregnancy and it doesn't affect me in any way. So it depends.

A big congratulations to you mama. I tap into your blessings of VD without tears. I understand it’s possible if the baby is not big, please are there tips to prevent having a big baby?

Most at times it is not the size of the baby that causes tears ooo because cutting the vg is common for first time moms. I was cut during my first weighing 3.6kg but I had no tears for my second and he weighed 4.1 at birth. Whichever way, may God make it easy for all the preggy mamas

To summarise my experience all the times I ate pineapple and anything that had pineapple, i had cramps and lower back ache. The one that almost caused a miscarriage... I didn't eat much but I was in serious pains few hrs later. It was when I did a scan(out of concern)that I saw threatened abortion at 8 wks. I saw the doctor afterwards because the pains were still present and she prescribed pcm. Personally I know it was my prayers that kept my LO.

You can take the sweet cotonou pineapple.
Not the bigger, rounder Queen's pineapple.
Just a little is okay and drink lots of water.
Avoid taking the hard centre part too.
If you're carrying a high risk pregnancy, taking pill to stop contractions or have cervical incompetence, just look for a pineapple flavored drink to appease your cravings

My sister in law was having false labour and ate pineapples alone to move it faster.


Pineapples contain bromelain which could trigger contractions but it's the Queen's pineapple (the big, round ones) that contains it the highest especially in the hard center (shaft).
The cotonou pineapple (small and slim) doesn't contain a lot of bromelain but you still need to avoid the shaft and eat it in moderation.


It was in my 2nd pregnancy I first tried this theory and it came with all night contractions cos I binged on it.
For my 3rd pregnancy, I just wanted to appease my cravings and I ate it again but in moderation this time around, I had slight and painless contractions and kept drinking water (to flush my system)


Note that what doesn't affect you might affect others and another angle is what you've been used to doing might have little effect on your pregnancy (for example if you're used to drinking the smoothie even before pregnancy, there's a lesser chance of it affecting your pregnancy. Besides you might be one with high thresh hold for pain who might not even notice contraction going on. Lol

On this particular thread, I've seen many pregnancies lost for one flimsy reason or the other. We just have to be careful.

As i was not progressing in dialecting and contracting i was given oxytocin to fasten it. Above all! My Only little prinncess is here after 2boys AlhamdulillaH!!!!! EDD was Feb 16th, put to bed Febuary 5th.. Febuary una bye bye!!!! Cappo i greet well. Sign out.......

Me I don't even know if it will size baby or not I Sha bought size two. If I no size baby I will keep it and buy few size one but I heard most babies start using that size two from like two weeks
