Odili won for religious reasons in 1999. People had issues with the other candidate because he was a member of a white garment church.

Amaechi didn't win an election in 2007, the supreme court made him a governor.

In 2015 Wike won for one simple reason, he rode on the back of Goodluck Jonathan and his wife. On a normal day Wike would have lost that election outstandingly.
