Also with the PTDF mails I have been privileged to come across, I know PTDF hardly uses Hi. They use Dear ......, and there is always a logo at a strategic part of the body of their emails. I cant see that here too. The grammatical errors in this your email is also very questionable. I am sorry but I am not convinced this is authentic.

Ok, I'm an OSS Scholar. If you don't believe you can keep waiting for list.

They said "in the next few years" and again, "75% of sponsorship". Assuming all the contents are true, it doesn't means that they're starting this year. The proposed schools must also pass the NUC's accreditation process. It's not happening anytime soon.

Going by the quality of the write-up. It has has been proven to my that it not legit. How can PTDF compose such email with topographies and incoherence. It lack professionalism, what mean by UoP?

Lol you guys are living in denial. Nitpicking grammatical errors and lack of logos. The guy is an OSS scholar and he shared the information willingly (he wasnt obliged to but he did).

Honestly, I have zeroed out this scholarship since last year. Goodluck to us all.

Last Selection took the list was released took place in 2019 which is 2019/2020 academic session. Last year selection is 2020/2021 session which was cancelled cause of the pandemic in 2020.

In as much as the mail doesn't look formal, here's one truth that I know of. PTDF has stated severely, their intention to focus more attention on funding local scholars as its no longer sustainable to continue the OSS process and here's why:
1. Check the portal on speeches made by the ES, and you'd see how multiple lines stated the focus on LSS specifically

2.That move was put on motion with The number of awardees for LSS been increased per state from 10 to 20 for Undergraduate and 10 to 15, for MSC and PHD in the latest list of 2019/2020.

its no brain strain to know that in the next two sets at most, PTDF will refer to sponsoring LSS only.

with the above, I still believe two things will most likely happen.

1. Those who did interviews will be awarded this year 2021/2022 with no new applications, just as LSS has non since 2018.

2. Those successful would be turned to LSS or PTI

let's all hope for the best.

last application was 2018. Its two year spacing to another application which was meant to be last year 2020. Due to the pandemic, there wasn't, and I doubt if its gonna happen this year either.

...move on! Just pray for the best.

While waiting, those of us in geosciences can start looking out for alternative energy courses/programs relevant to meeting the needs of the industry.
