sweetchi2411:
Good day all, i am so happy to have stumbled on this thread after watching a youtube video about Study route being the best to migrate to Canada.

I am a graduate of Computer science (4.1/5.0)

I am married with 3 children but intend to leave them with my husband and go alone first.

I am working in a hospital, though i use computer for my work, my job function is Medical Record Officer.

Graduated in 2011, ran a farm with my husband for a while, went to learn skills like sewing and plaiting before i got my present job as a record officer in 2018. I am 36years.

My questions are these:
1. Considering the study gap from 2011 to 2021, will i have a problem with getting a visa?

2. Since my job function is not in IT, will i run into any problem?

3. My husband intend to sell of one our property and sponsor me, hope the lump sum wont cause issues for us?

4. I have never travelled out of the country before, hope that is not a problem?

5. I thought about going for a course that is Medical record related, but the courses are mainly certificate and diploma, i don't want a situation where eyebrows will be raised on why i am going for a lower degree... So i intend to go for Cybersecurity(Msc.)

6. While trying to migrate through EE or Provincial Nominee, i started Masters to boost my CRS score, but am not through, do i need to mention that?

Please seniors in the house, help a sister and give me direction if my intention on relocating through study route with these 'baggages' is feasible.

Congrats (and in advance) to all who have gotten their approval

Good day to gurus on this loop,  @lekkiboboe
@olasubomy @otunbaTee @frankrobbn1

I would love to hear your opinion on my application process, I applied on the 1st of December 2020 (study visa) (No upfront medical) but during the process of applying I didn't upload any documents on optional documents. So same day a friend of mine says I should raise a webform which I did.

I used the webform to send my landed property, business registration document, statement of purpose and the institution school fees receipt... after three weeks IRCC sent me a mail that those documents has been received and it has been sent down to my visa processing center which is Nairobi Kenya and am expecting IRCC to update it on my account which they didn't do.

Ever since then I haven't received any feedback from them although my application just reached 2 months and 1 week plus

Please I need your opinion...
Thanks.

Hi Officialksolo,

You are not seeing any update on your GC account ( optional section) of your submitted application reason being that the medium of submission of the additional documents was via webform and not your GC key account since you would not have been able to submit via your GC account portal once the application is submitted except IRCC sends a mail requesting for these additional documents. The way forward was to send these via a web form which you have rightly done.

There is no cause for alarm since IRCC has sent you a confirmation e-mail that the documents have been sent to the visa processing center in Nairobi Kenya. You just have to be patient and wait for the next update from IRCC.

You can plan to do an upfront medical as a means to speed up your application or you await and hope to receive a medical request from IRCC. This is solely at your own discretion.

I hope this clarifies.

It would end in praise.

I think this means, your passport which you submitted for stamping has been received back and stamped. It will soon be shipped back to you.

I'm confused. I sent my passport to Lagos VFS last week and I got a receipt message from VFS global Lagos that my passport has arrived from the courier company.
Just this morning, I got this mail from VFS Abuja? I don't know what it means.

Good evening Family,
Please I've been following for some time and am super happy and excited about the success stories is am reading even in this new trend.
Am currently in a very difficult corner, my study visa application was rejected early October last year for just one reason which I clearly understand but the thing now is that my agent is requesting for some submission fee which I don't have.

I know I can do the visa application myself but am scared and do not know Jack on how to got about it though I processed my admission myself as well as booking my biometrics appointment.

Lastly I want to state that for my study I have my in law sponsoring me with a good source of income and with a statement of account showing 10m+, I have paid $5,100 CAD deposit out of $11,240 CAD yearly tuition for a 3years diploma course which it my first post secondary study and am just 23.

Please any great and urgent insight will be of help please as all my documents are ready .

Please book for medicals online . You have already finished first semester and into second semester.

In as much as upfront medical may not influence your application. Please don’t hesitate to do it

Maybe they will even remember you and give you that positive news .

All the best

Book your medicals online now o. Don't be surprised that the next available date for medical may be in March ending/April. It will save you a lot of sleepless night when the medical request finally comes.

Good day everyone, LONG POST ALERT (But believe me when I say it is supposed to be longer)
I have been a silent and longsuffering reader of this thread, actively reading since like Part 14 or 15.
On Tuesday the 9th of February 2021, I got the much-awaited PPR!
This is my gist:
December 2019, I reignited my dream to go to Canada. I genuinely wanted a career change from Law to HR. I finished with a 2:2 (Second Class Lower) in both Law and my first degree in English (I’m a young old man – 27 going to 28), and a 2:1 (Second Class Upper) from Law School. It was good enough to get me a decent job in Nigeria but the reality is stark and rather disappointing (Nigerian Lawyers dey suffer… but that is gist for another day).
With deep research, I chose to make the career switch, starting with paid online course which bagged me a diploma in Human Resources. I took this with hopes of one day becoming a specialist with my background in Labor Laws and Employment Legislation, by God’s grace. It was a big and tall dream. My target job and related field was and is increasingly always in Top 3 in-demand and top paid jobs in Canada. But we all know man proposes and God blesses as He wills.
I initially started off with interest in Express Entry under the FSW, but the impediment was my years of foreign work experience - less than a year. I wrote my IELTS and passed with 8.0. Overall Band Score, did my evaluation with WES (getting a transcript from Nigerian institutions is a task I wouldn’t wish on my enemy) but the CRS score was still too low. The only way to boost is was to effectively be fraudulent and risk a five-year ban. No, that was too much of a risk. I was advised by an acquaintance to try study route. How? I had no knowledge of it and I didn’t graduate with 2:1 that I could try Masters. I did my research and applied to two schools for a Business Diploma in Human Resources (I was adamant I wanted Saskatchewan for “personal” reasons.) and got admission offer into Great Plains College, Swift Current. This was EIGHT months after I started my Canada plans. I dumped EE for study with age not really being on my side as I intended to use my mother as the sole sponsor (Salary was nothing to write home about) for an ordinary diploma… me, a graduate with two university degrees, NYSC, and a qualified Lawyer. The odds were heavily and massively stacked against me. I waited and waited and waited and it seemed the world was passing me by and I wasn’t making progress. I broke down many times and kept my sincerity in my relationship with God even in my imperfection.
Nairaland and this thread is a big blessing. I got so much insight from being humble enough to learn from everyone.
My Application Timeline goes thus,
- Applied Online: October 6, 2020
- Biometrics Request: October 7, 2020
- Biometrics Completed: October 9, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Request (MyBankStatement Cert): November 24, 2020
- Upfront Medical after waiting and not getting request: November 25, 2020
- Medical Updated to Passed: December 2, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Uploaded: December 2, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Received: December 4, 2020
- Eligibility Review Started: December 4, 2020
- Deferred January Admission to September and informed IRCC with the new Acceptance documents via webform and mails to the three Nairobi e-mails.
- Requested GCMS Notes: January 28, 2021
- PPR and BVL and GCMS Notes all dropped: February 9, 2021
A total of FOUR months and 3 days passed and EVERY SINGLE DAY was excruciating. I prayed, fasted, and made covenants with God. I dipped into depression more than once… He gave me Jeremiah 29: 11 and I prayed for favour every night before I slept and every morning before I opened my eyes, I reminded God of His promises in His word. I got my Joy back even before the miracle happened. I was instructed to do what Otunba, lekiboboe and especially Awys did in their various posts like https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/228#98846426 and it worked! I am grateful to Blavkmaann , your posts gave me hope and cheered me up and FrankRobbn1 you’re a blessing. I can’t mention everyone but you’ve all inspired me.

c. Salary Payroll of the sponsor (mother) for 6 months prior to application
d. Sponsorship Letter

i. Sponsor’s International Passport data page
j. Certificate of Occupancy of sponsor’s property
k. Employment/Work Identity Card of Sponsor
l. Bank Investment Account worth 3.04M Naira

NOTE: When I got the NSE Request for a Mybankstatement Cert, I initially sent series of webforms and mails that I don’t want to do because I was seeing $CAD 30,000 minimum when we barely had half! I was led to submit it with a balance of 3.6M Naira (having already paid $CAD 8,500 deposit) because upon reading the letter again, it said “Proof of Financial Support A mybankStatement certificate showing sufficient funds for your studies for at least 6 months and 12 months of banking history”, which mean (to my new understanding) half of the requirement for a year’s sufficient funds… English can be hard.
Let me not bore you. I hope and trust I have been able to restore someone’s faith here. Don’t be moved by what you see (even on this forum, I saw people with over ten times of what my mother has and even being fully-funded and what not, not getting approved, I’m not despising anyone - God forbid, just keep the faith and DO YOUR HOMEWORK well, God cannot be mocked.), your joy is key – don’t lose it, keep busy and don’t stay idle - depression sets in faster then, a delay can never be a denial.
I’ll be resuming September 2021. Let me stop here, it has ended in praise!

Big congrats to you man! I totally understand how excruciating that “waiting period” can be. IT’S DRAINING. Mine too as well as every other person waiting on God for his miracles will end in Praise in Jesus’ name.

I did not get NSE request at all, I guess that's why mine is being delayed still after 4 months.

We will testify very soon. I just requested for another GCMS note today.

you can
A. use third party websites like thegcmsonline . com or getgcms . com. For like 15 to 30 CAD
OR
B. Have a friend in Canada order it for you for 5 CAD on the ATIP website https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do

Check this link for explanation on B :

Good day everyone, I have gone through this thread and found very useful and assuring info. Thanks and well done to everyone. I have a few questions though:

1. Sponsor does not operate a bank account-In the rare occasion that a sponsor (a businessman) has a lucrative business and is willing to pay/send me the required funds to cater for studying abroad and this sponsor does not operate a bank account, deals in cash travels abroad to buy goods pay in cash too etc. is it good enough to have such a sponsor send the required funds into my account and we execute a deed of gift and I sufficiently prove our family connection(same surname etc).

My worry is, it may be a redflag that I am not submitting the sponsor's SOA, although I can prove the existence of his business via incorp certificate, shops rents, travel and purchase history and receipts etc.

2. Dual Intent - I understand DUAL INTENT has been discussed here and it has been said clearly that if a person can successfully meet the requirement of both immigration routes the person will be fine, I need to ask about POF in this regard, can I use this lump sum gift (in no 1) to also meet the EE requirement while also mentioning it as my study POF? May sound silly but in the actual sense if either of the application is successful the funds will actually be applied towards living expenses whether as a PR or Student.

I look forward to your candid advice and comments.

Congrats. I love testimonies like this, it’s the strength needed for those of us strictly depending on God. I shall testify to, as God liveth

Good day to gurus on this loop,  @lekkiboboe
@olasubomy @otunbaTee @frankrobbn1

Thanks.

Good day, do not shake because the Lord is with thee...you're not seeing those documents on your account because you didn't submit via the account. Anything you send via webform, my brother/sister, be rest assured that they're seeing/receiving it, moreover they even sent an acknowledgement, so keep fingers crossed for it shall end in praise...
They've received it and are working on it accordingly. Shalom!
