That was Rochas initial proposal. Indigenous people gave out their lands hoping that it will become Imo State University's permanent site.
The state legislators moved against it- moving IMSU to Orlu.

Onye ojooor. You want to eat head, trunk and tail in Owerri in Imo while others from Orlu and Okigwe zones eat nothing.

You can’t continue to have three to four government universities in your Owerri hometown, while Orlu and Okigwe have nothing.

IMSU has got no permanent university structures since more than 20 years it was temporarily located in its present site in Owerri by former governor Evan Enwerem from Owerri. FUTO and AICE were in Owerri when Enwerem flagrantly located IMSU in Owerri.

What is impunity? And how am I supporting impunity? Between Rochas and the crook called Uzodinmma, who supports impunity the more ? How can you even try to pass whatever that's going between the two as a fight against corruption?

Taking over the school based on a so called white paper, it's illegally. It is only a competent court of law can determine the actual owner of the school. I pity the students, because they will be the one to suffer it, as long as the battle last.

It cannot be a good move if done with wrong intention. It is a move in the right direction. I hope the government will foray into other bogus investments owned by Okoroawusa. Ndigbo must discourage elected leaders from embezzlement of funds. Any seizure of properties from elected leaders is good for me.

I visited the school last year and I was really marvelled at the wonder Rochas did there
That man no doubt really values education

In fact, the hostels were something else, pulse super-fast open Wi-Fi

While I won't criticise Hope's move, I'd recommend they sell the school to a private body
It'll help maintain the original standard

Imo people deserve that best in Eastern Palm university.
We would rather sell IMSU in Owerri to a private entrepreneur who will develop it like a capital city university; we then use the ultramodern facilities in Eastern Palm university as Imo state university to teach our youths.

IMSU Owerri rather deserves to be made a private university because no governor has agreed to develop permanent university facilities on its present site owing to the fact that all three government universities in Imo state cannot be in one area as they are now, while the other two zones of the state have none.

Let the hoteliers in Owerri buy the land and build a City University of Owerri on the land, inherit the two TETFUND buildings that are the only university structures on the land.

Let the students of IMSU move down to Eastern Palm University built in a serene area and with hostel accommodations.

Imo state shall be better off with this arrangement. Don’t support impunity because of clannish consideration.

I just think that government sucks at managing stuff like this effectively. The way that university was built, it would be better to allow a private consortium to run it.. Bringing a government headed by one Ozodimgba to run it is nothing but a prelude to disaster..

Who is the private or organization that built a university and registered it as property of government? Nobody.

Rochas Okorocha government promptly registered Eastern Palm University with the National Universities Commission as property of Imo state government. It’s still like that at the National Universities Commission.


You are a hotelier or brothel owner in Owerri who wants to continue to profit from subjecting our youngsters clustered in many government subsidized universities in Owerri.

Okorocha is smarter than your lot.
