Mountmoriah has delivered the roofing materials and installers are currently installing them. I was very nervous because of my previous Fraud experience on this platform. Also, the gap of communication he created exacerbated the whole situation. Sure, there was sinister motive behind his silence but thank God I acted fast. My advice to anyone dealing with contractors on this platform or anywhere else is to be on your toes....

After I got the quote and I made payment on a monday evening, by Tuesday the materials were available on site, by Wednesday evening the installation had been completed, He sent me pictures/videos of every step, from loading to transportation and installation. I went to the site today to inspect the job, it was neatly done, no mistakes or errors.

I recommend him 100% to handle your roofing project.

When I asked him if he’s the same person as hsl-broker, there was a long pause then he told me “I’m not hsl-broker but hsl-broker taught me all I knew.”

Let me share this short story before I continue. In 2015 or thereabout, I paid some huge amount of money to someone (not here) to purchase a 2011 Venza. He sent me all the necessary docs on the car, I even nearly engage someone here to handle the clearing. In Barrister Mike’s voice “Ase pe everything is lori-iro” There was no vehicle in the vessel he told me and all he gave me were fake docs.

When I got to know about this issue, I got mad but my paddy don japaxit. He later called me and explained his situation to me. I told him “I understand there’s no way I could have given you that huge amount of money to help you solve your problem but I thank you that you hinted me not to proceed with the clearing of the vehicle. How you wan take pay me back?”

To cut the long story short, we are still good friends till date and he has served me so well in situation where I never believed I could get help.

To err is human, to forgive is divine. I posted something 2 days ago that a lot of people don’t like bringing issues like this to me because they knew I’ll always sue for peace - a win-win for both parties.

The best thing we can do for ourselves is to help each other become better as a result of our coming together on this platform and not to beat our chest that I’ve succeeded in pulling down another man.

I’ll do all I can to build a system that protects anyone who transact on my platform. As at the time I was tracking @mountmoriah, there were 4 other people about 1km near him doing the same.

Shameful conduct coming from this client. Just as the thread caution against potentially fraudulent vendors, it's also important to stress the need to avoid problem clients like this. Considering the economic problems in the country, I'm not sure how realistic it is for vendors to turn down doing business with impatient, belligerent clients but I can't imagine the headache dealing with such people. Actually, Rabiu Kehinde Adeniyu is hsl-broker. Rabiu Taiwo ABDULAFEEZ is his brother. I had the GTBank account details the client posted as well as his the first bank (his brother's account) account I sent money too. He gave me his brother's account details because he had some issues with his GTBank at the time I contacted him.

I wouldn't have made the post about him being the same person if I were not 100% sure.

You need the complete suite of drawings for this - architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical.

Then use your drawings to get a comprehensive quote from a builder and/or QS through a paid service. you definitely can afford one.

Pls don't play pro bono games with that kind of structure. it also depends on what you are building...flats, shops, mixed development or others.

WHAT MAKES ALUMINIUM ROOFING SHEETS TO LEAK?

1. Faulty corrugating machines

Whenever the machines used to fold aluminium sheets develop faults due to poor service and poor maintenance culture, it might start to punch too hard, perforating sheets in the process, such holes might be too small to notice, until it rains. That is when you see the faults. A roof repair guy will be needed to use felt and patch the roof from under to fix the leaks.

2. Lapping gaps

By this, I mean the point where two sheets join, where one sheet laps over the other to create a continuous roof. If you are using step tiles, or worse still Metcoppo sheets of aluminium, please help yourself and do what we call, DOUBLE LAPPING, this will mean lapping two rows of aluminium sheet instead of lapping on one only. Water splashing during rain fall can easily get under the single lap, and leak seriously into the house. With double Lapping, you are assured of less incidence of water getting under your roof from the point where two sheets join. It's important to note that double Lapping will increase your roofing sheets quantities by about 8-12%. You will actually spend more to do double lapping.

3. Roof Ridge covers

The ridge cover is another point that can let in water during the rain, especially with a poor carpentry job. Another problem with ridges is if the ridge capping is not wide enough to comfortably cover the roof, water can find a way to flow into the roof especially during heavier rains.

POINTS TO NOTE

1. That you used .55, .45 or .40 to roof your house is not the reason it will leak. The reason is the design, or wrong placement of your lapping.

2. The Metcoppo, and the step tiles will leak much more than the straight long span sheets. We usually think that the beauty of the Metcoppo or the step tiles, exposes it to a design flaw which makes it prone to leakage. Be ready for periodic roof maintenance if you use Metcoppo sheets.

Need some advice. I'm torn between choices on a roofing project. I would prefer step tiles or metcoppo simply for aesthetics but wouldn't want problems with leakage in the future. Do you think step-tile is a more manageable option that provides aesthetics and fewer issues with leakage?

Also, I gather that with long span, 0.45 gauge will suffice for most projects but if using step-tile or metcoppo, it's better to go for 0.55 at least. Do you agree with this or does it not matter in the long run?
