Hi

I'm not much of a writer, I just dabble in it.

The last time I wrote anything for public consumption was in 2017 when I was in a dark place, I'm back in that place now, hence the thread.

I find writing therapeutic, it's more like a safe haven for me.

Please do not steal my stories, it'll shatter me completely.

Do enjoy and I look forward to reading your comments.

Can we write together? I can be your writing partner or accountability partner.

Because writing is fun and you too can learn to enjoy it. Besides I need friends. Can you send me your email?

LOVE

Love is more than flowers and chocolates
Love is like a wind, cannot be seen but felt
Love transcends beyond the physical
Love is that, which I feel for you….

Bayo finished his poem to a resounding applause from the audience.
It was open mic; a Valentine day's special, and love was in the air, all around him.
Lovers enthralled in each other's gazes, the flirtatious touches, sensuous chuckles and a few daring kisses.

But what do they know about love?
"They know nothing" he mused.

Tonight was going to be a special night, he could hardly contain his excitement, his date waved at him from across the room, he threw her a kiss.

There she was, looking stunningly beautiful in her black dress and ruby red earrings to match the occasion, she easily made every lady in the room, look pale in comparison.
She was a tall, dark curvaceous woman in her late twenties whom he had met two months ago at her company's hangout, where he had been invited by his friend; her colleague, they got introduced and the rest, they say is magic.

He walked across the room to the woman who was going to make his night fulfilling.

"Tola, had Paris met you, the Trojan war would have been avoided"

"I don't understand" she responded, looking confused.

"The battle would have been avoided, because he would have had no eye for Helen of Troy"

"Stop it" Tola said in between laughters

"It's time to go dearest", he took her hand as they exited the cafe.

.........

An hour later, Bayo and Tola arrived at his apartment, the drive back had been filled with so much sexual tension, that it made the air around them thick

Bayo opened the door to let her in, she grabbed his shirts and placed her lips on his, in wanton abandonment
He held her back, "hold on dear, now is not the time. Let's have some wine"

He opened the bottle of wine, poured her a glass and she drank it down in a gulp.
"Easy tiger" Bayo teased.

"I...I… can'ttttt..tt...wait… to..laaayy. m.mmy h..ands.. on… youu…" she slurred

"What's wrong with me, I can't be drunk" she thought.
She looked up to meet Bayo's wolfish grin. At that moment, her whole body felt like she had been ran over by a truck. Her eyes felt heavy.

Bayo carried her on his arms down a flight of stairs leading to a basement, she had never seen before.
"Whhherre arree wwweee goiinnggg", she asked, trying to keep her eyes from closing.
The trepidation which had been rising in her heart reached a crescendo, when he switched on the light in a room, and she saw thirteen closed coffins , an opened one and a big red bow.
He gently placed her in the coffin

"You, my dear, are very special, because you're my 14th victim on the 14th day of the month and in my 14th year of enlightenment.
"Love is not just flowers and chocolates, I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving, but this", Bayo explained whilst holding up a knife, she didn't see before.

"I knew I shouldn't have bought this Victoria Secret", that was the last thought on Tola's mind, before her eyes closed forever.

Alright people, if you are here like me and you are wondering what was going through OP's mind when she penned this, then gather here so we can approach her for that much-needed explanation.

Alright ma'am, we're ready.
