FG is broke cannot carry everything . FAAN makes profit from only three airports (Lagos , abuja and port harcourt). The surplus from these airports is what is used to fund other airports under FAAN. This is one of the reasons civil servants in FAAN are fighting the minister Sirika because he wants to concession the terminal buildings in these three airports along with Kano. Once that happens they will no longer get free money from lagos, abuja and port harcourt airports and they have not been able to make any of these airports viable. Nigeria suffers from its greedy citizens who pressure their governors into embarking in some unsustainable projects.

Within the south east every state wants to have its airport as opposed to adopting that of enugu as the gateway airport to the southeast. Why spend billions on an airport that will only see one or two aircrafts land daily ? The bayelsa government did the same thing spending billions on an airport project. Till today there is no commercial flight operation there.

Well owerri airport is operating just fine too,after all everywhere is usually booked during festivities like Christmas, so it should solve those issues since igbos travel alot

You'll be shocked how many flights they'll have from Benue, Northern Cross River, and even Cameroon. Enugu airport was closed for a long period leaving folks around the region stranded.

I hope youre aware the status of that state has improved of late with better infrastructure and all. They certainly are opening up for more tourists, more business, investors etc. Those states that "run at a loss" know where the money dey go.

What your empty skull fails to tell you is that Anambra as a state needs an airport compare to Ebonyi considering the number of business tycoons in the state so it is better to build an airport closer to the commercial city of Onitsha for those business men. Even the airport in Anambra state is a Cargo airport.
How do expect them to make profit from the airport when it start functioning considering the fact that it is likely to witness low patronage?

I'm from Ebonyi and I'm of d same opinion.
Ebonyi doesn't need an airport now based on scale of preferences.
Enugu airport is just 45mins away,same time it takes som1 from Karu in Abuja to get to Abuja airport.
Secondly, Ebonyi doesn't have the economic activities or population that can make an airport viable.
Same with the nearest towns in other states.
Either they are typical villages or have other airports like Owerri, Calabar and Enugu closer

Ebonyi is in order. Every STATE is expected to have one airport at least.
