the court of law has Said nobody needs a permit to carry out a protests, there is judgement about that. Yes the police are meant to keep law and order by protecting the protesters and making sure it was peaceful not arresting in a saner climes police only use force when protesters becomes violent but the case our police start to round up people for no reason....

The thugs are more likely PDP thugs because they are the ones who usually destabilize Lagos when they go haywire. There are records of their atrocities, right from 1999. When Obanikoro was still in PDP, we know what the losses of lives and properties that his thugs caused Lagos State.

Lets assume hoodlums did not hijack the protest, would it have been possible for the govt to discredit the movement & arrest unarm citizens, until hoodlums gave govt the leverage, so to whose advantage.
whoever sent those thugs did it to discredit the movement as been "hijacked" .... endsars is detrimental to apc govt why would pdp come to there rescue.

we are in a democracy and to the best of my knowledge, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. last time i checked the courts were functional and those you call big criminals like Orji Uzor Kalu, Tinubu, Atiku etc have all had their day in court. As for those you call fulani terrorist, it is a matter of opinion. all tribes have bad eggs. tagging everyone from that tribe bad is wrong. you cannot say all igbos are kidnappers, love peddlers, armed robbers and murderers while Yorubas are ritualist, drug peddlers,armed robbers, betrayers, etc. it is wrong. the few cannot make the whole. this is why we need to find a lasting solution

mr divinehealer, not everything is black and white, there are shades of gray. if you've ever been a leader you will know that it is not easy to carry everyone along. now look at you. you heard a news from the net or papers, you never cared to verify it just because you hate the government in power, your mindset is made up on who is right or wrong. would it be easy to carry someone like you along. what is right to you may be wrong to others but government is in possession of all the fact to take the right action. look at the big picture.

Even though the protest was highly decentralized, it was backed by many popular activists and celebrities. But soon after the government disbanded SARS, prominent figures such as Aisha Yesufu withdrew and warned that some people were planning to hijack the protest. Protesters were begged to leave the street because there was information that some elements were preparing to take advantage of the peaceful protest to loot and kill.

How can APC be responsible for the wanton destruction that followed? The government disbanded SARS, released arrested protesters, and met other demands. How can anyone still accuse them of being behind the destruction that followed?

Do you want to tell me that those people that broke into the Oba of Lagos palace, vandalized TVC, burned down police stations, made an attempt on the life of the Osun state governor, vandalized National Theatre, were motivated by APC?

I’m glad they were properly charged to court and have now been granted bail. That’s the right thing to do. It would have been condemnable if they were detained perpetually without charging them to court. The court should now be allowed to decide their fate.
