These are what I think you can do :
1. Make research on universities in need of postdoc in your line of study ( extend your search beyond Canada. Look into Europe, Uk and US).

2. You need to contact professor(s) in your field.
3. Make sure you have a good research profile (the most important factor) plus publications in reputable journals.
4. Try to have some academic mentors in your field on LinkedIn, this helps a lot.

PS: In all ask for favor from God. The above are what I know can atleast land you postdoc offer among other things. All the best smiley

can you shed more light on this please? My wife has a PhD and we've been researching on how to get postdoctoral opportunities but we haven't seen

Omo ! How many people get back market rate(CAD 395) ? So much speculations around this POF matter self. Some says use IRCC rate
https://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/cgi-bin/recgen/er.pl?Language=E

Some says xe.com with like 300k on top.

I don't understand IRCC rate..is that 330CAD per naira? I submitted 4.1m as POF for a single person. I hope its more than enough.

Looooong Silence and No update on my profile

Found out my VO was Accra after 5months+ when I emailed IRCC/CIC (March 2020)

1st GCMS Note 9th July 2020
2nd GCMS Note 12th November 2020
Medical Extension Update 24th November 2020
Review of Additional Document 10th December 2020
Request for Document (Passport and Photograph) 8th January 2021
Final Decision/PPR/Counterfoil Issue 1st February 2021

Gist (Pardon the grammar)

I have been a silent reader on this thread since somewhere in part 9, so I thought to share my experience.

I have always wanted to live abroad, I got used to UK lifestyle after my masters and I was hoping to stay back afterwards. But........
A few people told me about this Canada immigration but I didn’t take it serious until sometime around mid 2019, I decided it was time. Then I started to research and take action.

WES: This was seamless took about 4 weeks, I have Master’s degree from UK university.
IELTS: Wrote in July, and aced it in one trial (L8.5 R8 W7 S8)
PCC UK: Was also straight forward, and a little more expensive than Nigeria. Got it in about 2 weeks.
PCC Nigeria: It was also easy but dramatic, paid 10k for it.

Then I created an EE profile and four days later I got ITA with the next draw. Cut off was 454 and I was at 478. I proceeded to do my medicals and gather all my documents.

After about a month plus from getting ITA, I submitted my application.

SILENCE

At this time, I didn’t know much about VOs then on the thread, I started reading/hearing of Accra. Five (5) months into an application that is supposed to normally last 6months, still no update + COVID-19. Then I sent a few web forms to inquire about my VO, lo and behold.... It was ACCRA. Chai, I had mixed feelings oooo.

Applied for 1st GCMS note in July through someone in Canada, it came back after a month; eligibility and criminality passed which was not shown in my profile. MEP was the only thing that passed from the initial period of application. Officers assessments also showed everything was good.

SILENCE

Ordered for 2nd GCMS note in second week of November.

Fast forward to 1year+ AOR, I got first update which was that my medical was extended and two weeks later, Additional document was been reviewed according to my profile. I was hoping for a Christmas Miracle at this time but instead, I got a New Year gift; Email that my application is approved YAY!! But they added that I may not be allowed to travel now due to COVID-19. Anyway, I was asked to send in my passport photo and Int’l PP.
Same day I got email that my application had been approved was same day the 2nd GCMS note returned. But it didn’t matter because I had gotten a better NOTE (Lol) and I’ll add also that nothing was different from the 1st and 2nd GCMS notes or maybe I didn’t read it well because at this time, I didn’t care about the notes.

Counterfoil was issued on the 1st of February and all the remaining section on my profile were subsequently passed that same day. Security section passed with a date sometime in May 2020 (just wondering why it wasn’t update when it was actually passed).

I saw on this thread someone suggested that London VFS will be better since Accra is always slow. Though someone argued that because of Coronavirus surge in England, it wasn’t the best idea. I went ahead to contact VFS and they were prompt in replying. It gave me hope that at least they were still in operation/business. So, I trusted God and I went ahead to DHL to have my documents sent to London VFS.
It got to them in 2 days and they dispatched to IRCC same day they received it. Then I got counterfoil update in about two weeks after my documents reached IRCC. My PP was then sent back to VFS and I was notified. So, I had to arrange for pickup and I wrote a consent letter as well. It took about 6 days for PP to be returned to me because VFS designates 2 days for courier pick up to be done and also shipment fell around the weekend (turnaround time for my COPR and PP from London VFS+IRCC was 3weeks).

IT ENDED IN PRAISE!!! THANK YOU JESUS!

For all those still waiting......Hang in there, your miracle is coming, I believe God will not leave us alone in this journey, Amen. Thanks to all those who contribute to this thread.

I hope I can share my landing gist when I arrive/settle.
Congratulations ma'am. Kindly squeeze me into your traveling bag. Please, you applied with how many years of working experience?

Very interesting analyses on the forum. They are mostly speculative though as no one knows why the IRCC is conducting CEC draws on a Saturday morning with 27k invitations with a cut off of 75. They should streamline their information management system to ensure people are adequately informed about changes. It doesn't seem fair to get people to pay so much money for all these services (WES, IELTS, ITA and PPR fees) and then leave them in the dark about changes to their program. What's the difference between that and the Nigerian civil service?
It’s safe to say that disclaimer are written in fine prints and most people don’t bother to read them. Well, IRCC has the right to alter or stop the program all together without prior notice.

Good day. Please, my wife’s WES Waec evaluation was with her GCE certificate. Currently, she’s in the process of creating her profile, but is a bit confused on whether to select the secondary school she attended or the school she wrote her GCE exam. Any help with this will be appreciated. Thanks.

I will share my PPR gist on this NL by the grace of God...not for culture sake but to play it forward.

Please house, I have a question abeg make una try answer me.

My husband did his WES when they use weac and his age in the weac was wrong. We didn't know until the wes came out. Because he wrote his waec long time ago, when they haven't started including it in their certificate. But his age was in their system.

Now wes included the wrong age in his ECA.

And every other particulars of his has the correct date including his passport. Please what should we do because we just entered the pool and we are not sure if it will affect us. I am the principal applicant though.

Thank you.

We’ve already evacuated our results before the policy was introduced. She’s currently creating her EE profile and needs to give her secondary school details.

There’s no school name on the the result. Since it’s GCE, it’s just the name of the Local Government where she sat for the exam.

Congratulations ...you can send to Paris or Accra but Accra should be direct and not through Lagos VFS

This is still valid. Feel free to send your passport directly to Accra, if I am not mistaken, the person I responded to has gotten his/her passport back within three weeks .

Check if you can withdraw and send it to a different location/country.

The primary document used by IRC to estsblish DOB is any travelling document e.g your in't passport. So if the DOB in his passport is correct then you need not to fear
