I lived in UK some while back and really chook my eyes at their soil. It was muddy and pasty. That's why they just use pavement to keep everywhere nice and clean. But their canals, rivers and sea was not Blue..
I went to 2 beaches in northern part called Whitby and Scarborough. The sand was sharp sand. The water was ice cold even in summer. But it wasn't blue like movies water.
A typical African will not like to swim in their water. It's never warm enough.

May god himself help us in Nigeria, we're really too backward and not hiding it, it affected me when I touched down Durban and saw the beautiful streets n everything.

I’m not knowledgeable enough about the differences between springs, creeks and rivers but after consulting Google, i'd say it was a river although i didn’t see any sea in the distance.
