Ohthinktwice:I didn't find anything in that scripture where Jesus gave instructions to that we should preach but I find that instructions in Matthew 24:14. Do u see how u don't have any idea of what u are saying? Do u see how u just want to mislead gullible ones. I asked u a simple question, yet u could not provide a scripture based answer. |

DavidEsq:Could you kindly explain how encouraging people to love God with this post in consonance with the scripture I provided could be misleading to gullible ones as you claim? |

Ohthinktwice:Wasn't this what u said? I asked u since God said we should preach his gospel to the world, the gospel about what, were we asked to preach and u said about love, for which u cited that scripture. When I checked the scripture u cited, it didn't say anything about an instruction from God to us, to preach about love. Rather, the scripture where we were asked to preach told us to preach about the Gospel/good news of the kingdom. Yet Valentine which is a celebration of idolatory (memory of an idolized man) is what u claim should be used as an opportunity to preach Christ's love. Socrates said "An unexamined life is not worth living". Have u ever asked urself what the scriptures really teach about Valentine or u are one of those who quickly jump and shriek "THE SCRIPTURES NEVER SAY JACK ABOUT VALENTINE"!!!! Ur desperate bid to entwine Valentine with Christ suggest u are likely one of such. Have u ever asked urself what Hebrew 5:14,15 really mean when it says "through use of their power of reasoning, are able to distinguish right from wrong"? Do u understand that such scripture is talking about deep search of God's words to find principles that regulate our lifestyle? For example: am I ready to inquire about certain Christian practices on whether it is in line with the scriptures? Why does Proverbs 4:18 says that "the part of the righteous gets brighter"? Does it not mean that a righteous man grows in knowledge? |

DavidEsq:Forgive me but you sound like a fault finder that doesn't preach the Gospel himself but would just be trying to find faults in those who were truly doing so. Why not show me where I preached about valentine here? What you've either forgotten or are ignorant of, is that, the teachings of Jesus is the gospel of the Kingdom which we are meant to teach or preach to men, as Jesus asked His disciples to teach men to observe to do His teachings, and that which I quoted to you was exactly that. You should learn not to allow sentiments to becloud your judgment because it's only that which could make you begin to assume that because someone who doesn't celebrate Valentine's day, mentioned Valentine's day before preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God which teaches us to love God means that he preached about Valentine's day. Perhaps what you don't even know is that Sunday itself is being seen by some as a pagan sun-worship day, so that should also mean that someone who preaches about loving God on a sunday means he's preaching about the pagan sun-worship. Your choice though to make of it whatever you choose. I have already used the opportunity to preach about loving God in accordance with the gospel of the Kingdom and I know God would have no issues with that. Cheers. |
