Thanks for this. It is not a small matter.

So does this mean for people going to other provinces outside the four listed, we should not do a direct booking to our province of study as we have to
Compulsorily stay for 3 days before we can then proceed?

We can't work on assumptions, he said he is self sponsored which means the money is his, sending the money anywhere is his sole discretion as far he can explain his intentions, people remove their money and put it back, he could put it back in batches but hoping for them to continue with the regular processing might flag that he is not genuine, they could request for an updated statement of account later, what I am merely suggesting is that he should be proactive, send the money in and write IELTS and go through the NSE route or explain why you won't be able to send it than just disregarding it, he just needs to pray and makes his final decision.

From the wisdom of my vast experiences, I do not believe that failure to acknowledge the NSE request, the visa officer will flag such application as not genuine. If you have to know, there are several applicants who opted out from the NSE program yet got approved. I don't believe its wise for him to start depositing money into his account, when he has already transfered the bulk money into his parents account immediately after the submission of his application. I also don't think that there is any immigration consulate of any country that is as sharp-witted as the Canadian visa officer's. These officers are trained to capture any abnormalities in people's applications. They can quickly spot that the op account has been left untouched since then till date which is a complete turndown in his application. The best advice I can give to him is either to advise them in writing as to why he can't provide the requested documents or allow his application be processed through the regular channel. There exists no penalty for not responding to the NSE request.

I've got a friend traveling to MUN this evening. He doesn't have his enrollment letter yet, and his friend traveling today too was sent back this morning because he couldn't provide it.

How can he get the enrollment letter?

I await your responses.

For MUN he can request for the letter through his self service portal and it will be sent to his Mun email in a couple of days. Since he is travelling this evening maybe the person can try calling MUN since its urgent.

He should login to his MUN student self-service portal to obtain this letter or better still contact the international student services for a copy of his enrollment letter.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush... Personally, I will recommend you proceed with the Trent University for your visa application. Hopefully when you secure your visa and you choose not to continue with the Trent, you may seek for a refund of your tuition and transfer to Ryerson University.

No matter the province you are going there will be a stop over in any of these airport as it's either Air Canada that will continue the journey to your final destination nah either of these four airport Ethiopian, Lufthansa,KLM or other flights will stop you then Air CANADA go continue the journey or any of their internal airline I guess

If that's the situation then you would have to wait for the 90days maybe your notes is still empty as there are no reviews from the VO'S yet and also this Covid-19 Pandemic is also slowing down things or maybe the time you applied for the notes they had not started your eligibility review.

Hello guys! Newbie here. I recently got admitted for a pg certificate in durham college. I’m applying online for the study visa. I just have a quick question:
Is it mandatory to submit my online application and medicals at the same time? I’m asking because I don’t reside in abuja or lagos (being the only locations with approved medical centers), and I’m trying to conserve cash as much as possible (i.e avoid making 2 trips to lagos).
Forgive my naivety but tell me if this is a good idea:
1. Complete the online application and submit all requested documentation
2. When I’m invited for biometrics (hopefully in lagos), use this opportunity to do my medicals at once.
If not a good idea, can you please advise?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Babyest,

Your thought is valid.

I got the NSE letter 2weeks after I submitted and eligibility has not started. However, review of additional documents started 3days after.

Hello Kkddyit,

That was quite fast, but what's you comments with those application that got MER in 3 days and got their application finalized in 12 - 14 days?

If the dashboard doesn't change from applicants' end, it doesn't signify that eligibility hasn't started. There are also applicants that already did biometrics, but yet, not updated on the GcKey in real-time after several days passed.

Will you say there is no ongoing activities behind the scene?

Cheers!

Hello house , trust you are doing great

Pls I need a clear guide on this PTA thing & going with Cash (money) to Canada

Tuition is paid already, so it's the $10,000 CAD proof of Living Expenses that is left now.

My questions goes thus,

- How can someone go with $10, 000 CAD to Canada?

- I do hear of $4,000 PTA is it $4,000 USD or $4,000 CAD?

- If its $4,000 CAD, Should I open a MasterCard domiciliary account and keep the remaining $6,000 CAD (in USD) there?

If I get to Canada, can i withdraw money in USD with my MasterCard then change it to CANADIAN DOLLAR?

Can someone go to Canada with more than $10,000CAD e.g $10,500 CAD or $11,000 CAD?

Any further information about this will be appreciated

Thanks

Any update? Has he received the enrollment letter? Just for information, my enrollment letter was sent to my mail as part of the quarantine plan I received from MUN. Your friend can check the mail again just to confirm if it was sent to his. The enrollment letter given to me for travel is different from the one I got when I applied from the portal.

Hello Bro,

You're allowed to take up to $10,000 CAD in cash, but however, you have declare it.

Given the scarcity of forex and the comparison of CBN and black market rates, the difference isn't very much to stress over getting the PTA.

You can (use your existing Naira account or) open a Dom account for yourself if you don't have one or if there is an existing one belonging to a close family member, you can deposit $6,000 - $8,000 CAD (USD rate). The balance $2,000 CAD can be liquid just in case there is a dire need, especially if your Nigeria card fails to work yonder.

When you get the chance to open a Canadian bank account, you can have the other part of the funds wired into the setup account. Any funds withdrawn in Canada will be in CAD except in the obvious.

As for the current rate for PTA, I'm not sure. The best move in order to be adequately guided is reaching out to your financial institution and place a friendly inquiry.

Best of Luck

Can TOEFL be used instead of IELTS for the NSE visa application?

Hello Bebe123,

I can't confidently comment on this. Stick with the instructed requirement for now. I have only seen 2 successful cases with TOEFL amongst the Indians some years back.

As time goes and as we observe closely, may be more understanding might have adhere fully to this development. As you know, NSE is still relatively new.

Hello Skull4eva,

Before the Gurus come, since the notes isn't forthcoming, just relax and be hopeful. I don't think you would get the satisfaction you seek at this moment. If you have some free cash, you can order the notes again using another third party website or better still, wait.
