Last night, I went to bed with tears in my eyes. Thugs, miscreants, charlatans and complete fools have taken over Imo State, and Hope Uzodinma gives executive backing to their criminality.

Today, I watched Sheikh Gumi speak for the bandits. He said the bandits do not kill people. They are peaceful. They are only trying to survive. They have been displaced economically because of cattle rustling. To Gumi, the military made a serious mistake by ever attempting to confront the bandits. He insisted the state must negotiate with the bandits and take care of them for peace to reign.

My identity as a Nigerian has never been as insulting to me as tonight. If my son had grown up enough to make sense of the utter gibberish from Gumi, I would have restrained him from ever setting his eyes on or lending his ears to the beast who had lost all shame and who could defend terrorism on a national television. The idea of Nigeria will remain a nauseating one until people of Gumi's ilk are exorcized from the public space.

We live among devils in religious cassocks, and this land is now inhabited by the very demons we dreaded the most.

The shame, however, is that Orlu has been under unmitigated attacks for weeks by the troops of Nigeria, who conduct air raids, violate human rights, whisk away worshippers, shoot at unarmed civilians and murder scores in cold blood.

The authority of the state is moral to the extent that it promotes that which is fair, just and virtuous. With what is going on in the country, especially with the acquiescence of the state to the criminality in the North and its bestial onslaughts against innocents in the East, Nigeria has lost the capacity to command loyalty to itself.

They are together in this enterprise. It's not new. They are only explaining now because they were resisted. They felt people will sit back and allow killings, raping, maiming and destruction of farms, and allocate their land to the killers, with apologies.

They can't because they are founded and based on different ideologies sir.

Boko haram is a 95% Kanuri movement to enthrone a radical Islamic state.

While Fulani terrorists is solely for fulani emancipation and land grabbing to rear their livestocks. They found an easy way to do this through Islam.

Both use almost the same amount of brute force but have totally different goals.

Even Iswap and boko who have the same ideologies and goals can hardly work together, how much more the Fulanis that have a totally different agenda.

Ah yes! Let's treat them with kids gloves like we've done with Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen that has made the issue to foster for so long.

We all know not doing anything would only make more people join their cause and bring more problems for villagers and farmers....so this his approach is crazy to say the least.
