Ayade’s Aide, Freeman Godwin Threatens Suicide Over Unpaid Salaries by NwaNimo1(op): 7:04pm On Feb 23, 2021

One of the Special Assistants of Cross River Governor, Freeman Godwin, has threatened to commit suicide over unpaid salaries.

He claimed he has not been a dime since his appointment last year.

Godwin alleged he got a loan to process documentation of his appointment but lamented he has been unable to service it because of non-payment of his salaries.

In a video obtained by The Nation, he said: “I am ready to die in this office. I have chosen by myself to take my life.

I lost everything. I was there living my life and they called me to take appointment. They asked me to borrow money to do clearance.

“At the end of the day they selected some people and pay N100, 000. Telling me Ben Ayade said, Ben Ayade said. So I should go and get a letter from Ben Ayade.

“Please don’t touch me. I will die for them.
…I sold everything to pay that young man.

I borrowed money, came here and did documentation hoping that when I am paid, I will pay back the loan.

“See, my wife gave birth through CS. A baby girl, I just said let me see what I can do but nothing…”

The kind of hardship political appointees in Cross River state are been subjected to is just unimagineable. Small time the Governor will come to National TV and srart shedding crocodile tears.

Lol you're only helping him reduce his financial burden. The clown governor would love nothing more. Are titles so sweet that you sit down and not get paid for year when you had another job that paid you?

It is only nonentities and loafers who complain while in government offices. Those with good jobs stay away from government appointments.

That being said, Ayade is just disgracing himself about. To think Ayade is a Professor.

If he's not paid, why don't he resign and take up other ventures that can pay his bills and put food on his table?

No pun and no insults to all the hardworking Akwa Ibomites and Cross Riverians but this is my problem with alot of men from Akwa Ibom and Cross River extraction. Most of them like big positions, but they're lazy, unenterprising and love jolification. Yet they don't like working. You'd see their women working very hard while the men waste away seeking juicy govt positions, but gambling, eating like glutton or drinking to stupor and then lazying about all day long and when there's no money again, they cry and complain.
