Bombs have different beating zone or lethal zone as may be called, when the bomb land at a point, the bomb fragment can cause a lot of damage within it's lethal zone

The spot which it lands can burn depending on the surface while the fragment destroyes anything it meets on it way

its an airstrike.

TROOPS RECOVERED MARTE KILLING SCORES OF BHT/ISWAP TERRORISTS

Troops of Nigerian Army troops this afternoon, around 3pm, recovered New Marte and adjoining communities from the develish Boko Haram terrorists. This is coming less than the 48 hours directive earlier given to the troops to recover the town by the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru.

The troops backed by air cover from the Nigerian Air force , successfully charged through Marte town, destroying several Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) and landmines laced across their routes and killing scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and successfully recovered the town.

The gallant troops are currently in total control of the general area. Details soon.

NAF TO STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP WITH CIVIL AVIATION AGENCIES AS OFFICIALS VISIT CAS, CONDOLE SERVICE OVER RECENT AIR CRASH

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reiterated its willingness to collaborate with agencies under the Ministry of Aviation, including the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Aircraft Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) in the areas of security of navigational infrastructure, calibration of navigational aids, training of personnel and safety of the airspace as well as exchange programmes. The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao, disclosed this today, 24 February 2021, while receiving a team of senior officials from the various agencies, led by the Director General (DG) of NCAA, Captain Musa Nuhu, who were on a courtesy visit to Headquarters (HQ) NAF, Abuja, where they also commiserated with the CAS and entire NAF family on the recent air crash that claimed the lives of 7 NAF personnel.

During his remarks, the CAS, while expressing sadness over the loss of the personnel, stated that the proposed deepening of partnership between the NAF and civil aviation agencies would further enhance the efforts of the NAF to improve flight safety and, by extension, operational effectiveness. AVM Amao further noted that, other areas of concern include the certification of all the aviation personnel in the industry. He stated that the Service is made up of highly skilled human resources that could be of tremendous assistance to the society upon retirement. He assured the DG that a Team of NAF personnel would be tasked to liaise with the NCAA and other agencies with a view to formalizing the partnership with a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would further improve inter-agency collaboration for mutual benefit whilst also enhancing the security and management of the Nigerian airspace. The CAS also used the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Aviation for including the NAF Aprons in Maiduguri and Monguno as part of ongoing work to emplace and upgrade aviation facilities in Borno State. He noted this would no doubt impact positively on the NAF’s operations in the North East.

Earlier in his remarks, the DG NCAA, Captain Musa Nuhu, emphasized that, though cooperation exists between the NAF and NCAA, there were many areas of cooperation yet to be explored for the benefit of the Nation. He disclosed that possible areas of cooperation include Airspace Management, Civil licensing for NAF personnel, approval for some institutions that the NAF has established like the International Helicopter Flying School in Enugu as well as its Aviation Medicine Examination Centre in Kaduna. He noted that the collaboration was to ensure that both the military and civil authorities have a ‘360’ view of the airspace for full development of the country. Captain Nuhu further urged that a team comprising NAF officers be constituted to come up with terms of reference for the MoU between the military and civil organizations in the aviation industry especially, at this time when the NAF is playing a very critical role in the fight against insurgency, banditry and other forms of criminality in the Country. He expressed confidence that the CAS and his team would undoubtedly move the NAF to a much greater heights to achieve the much desired peace for the development of the Nation.

Also present at the event were the Managing Director FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yadudu, and representatives of the Chief Executive Officers of NIMET and AIB as well as Branch Chiefs from the NAF Headquarters.

When the COAS gave the 48hrs order, alot of people said it was impossible and I also thought the samething when I saw the area to be recovered that it was impossible within that period of time, I thought the chief was just trying to ginger them but to the suprise of everyone these guys did it in less then 48hrs and without the loss of a single man.

Later you'll see some people crawling out from only God knows where telling us that officers don't know how to do their job, soldiers' morale is low and all sort of nonsense.
I pray y'all find love that would cure your bitterness.

land equipment are not the same as air equipment. they naf intensively check their plane before being flew.this plane was check before going on that mission. before a plane crash they are some sign a pilot will notice, especialy in the speed, control etc. This sign never report when it left minna because if it had report the will not fly it back

About 50 women allegedly arrested by the Nigerian Army during the crisis in Obigbo, Rivers State, last October, were forced to wear the same set of underwear for four months in military detention, a civil rights group, the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, has said.

The Intersociety noted on Tuesday that there were fears that some of the ladies, who were recently freed after a prolonged legal intervention, could have infections such as sexually transmitted diseases as some of them claimed to have been serially raped.

SaharaReporters had on February 16 reported that going by the accounts of two of the girls, they were routinely raped by soldiers during the months they spent at the detention facility in Mogadishu Barracks, Asokoro.

The victims said they were arrested around a market in Obigbo while on their way home from work between 7 pm and 7.30 pm in November 2020 and were initially taken to the Nigerian Army base in Obinze Army Barracks, Owerri, Imo State, and then to Abuja.

The Intersociety noted on Tuesday that its findings revealed that the abducted Obigbo women were made to wear the same set of underwear for months, while the army also acted “unconstitutionally, inhumanly, hatefully and abominably by holding the victims incommunicado and outside access to their families, physicians and lawyers”.

The Intersociety release was signed by Emeka Umeagbalasi, Chinwe Umeche, Obianuju Igboeli, and Chidimma Udegbunam.

The civil rights group said, “Going by our findings, including oral interviews from the two freed Obigbo girls and insider sources at army and DSS (Department of State Services) dungeons, the over 60 abducted Obigbo girls and young women were made to wear one set of underwear – pants and a brassiere– from October and November 2020 till date.

“In other words, the victims have been made to wear the same set of pants and brassieres worn when they were abducted by soldiers of the Nigerian Army in October and November 2020 at various points in Obigbo. This is more so when the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services totally blocked the victims’ access to their loved ones, including physicians, families, and friends, and declined to make their abduction and captivity public knowledge.

“We also doubt if COVID-19 protocols were observed where they were held for four months. Apart from serious suspicion of routine sexual harassment, the women are most likely to have been exposed to a litany of health dangers including sexually transmitted diseases and other health challenges as well as mental and menstrual discomforts.

“The victims only got freed when their names were stressfully and painfully traced by activists and bail applications filed and successfully granted and served on the army authorities, after which the army authorities got them out from different secret locations where they were kept. The totality of these is abominable and unknown to Sections 35 and 36 of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, particularly subsection 4 of Section 35 and subsections 8 and 12 of Section 36.”
