Akinbahm:I have said it times without number that no individual is responsible for our defensive strength this season, rather it is the entire team structure and defending from the front. Last night Arteta threw all those away in search of goals, and so when exposed our back two couldn't hold their own. |

BlueRayDick:I think Aubameyang did what he needed to do yesterday, he took his chances which for us was more important than creating any. I think bar the defensive errors, the team did well as the ground was a neutral ground. |

Spy360:Well, that was after the die minute goal was scored. My position was from the whole first half to the moment he scored that goal. He offered little threat to their defence. I appreciate the fact that he scored those two goals, but we would've pounced in him for being lost in the match if Saka didn't play that pass anf cross and the match ended 2-2. What I'm saying is going forward we need a striker that can create something out of nothing. |

BlueRayDick:I get you but it's not easy creating chances and scoring at the same time. Take Timo Werner for example, he does a lot of ball work but hardly scores. Auba does little ball work but at least when needed he gets at the end of the final ball. I will easily forgive his anonymity for most part of the game as long as he keeps scoring. Someone has to play that final ball even if it means a simple tap in, and Auba does that, so for me it's just OK. |

Really really glad for the win over benfica. By the 80th minute, I was already #Artetaout# . Thank goodness auba was at his clinical best and Saka was still Saka. All in all, it was a good game and the trio of saka, Auba and Tierney saved ceballos and Arteta from arsenal fan's rage .Tinz I observed 1... We need more than bellerin. We need a very very good rb that's unpredictable with a good crossing and attack (as well as defence). 2... I wholly agree with Blueray too. Granted Auba scored two valuable goals and we are glad for that. Not undermining his goals but we need more than that now (not just we, the game has evolved for strictly a poacher). The good thing is that we were dominant against benfica, but what if we met teams of equal or greater than us. That'll make him missing in games. We need to sell Lacazette and buy a more rounded striker next season 3.. Saka need game off. Not as a sub but As in actual rest against Leicester. He shouldn't be in the squad going to play against Leicester. Arteta should please catch head and give that guy a breather abeg. Not that we have any hope for top 4, and we still have a tie against Olympiacos on Thurs which is more important than Leicester game and we have deputy to take over saka role in martinelli or Pepe. I would really question Arteta if I see him play saka cos that guy(Saka) looks tired and knackered on Thurs. Onto Olympiacos, hopefully we scale through to the quarters this time. COYG!!... we move! |

Jodera:Arteta is like his boss Pep both dont like players fans like they prefer to groom players fans would like... That's my view on the case of Ozil, Saliba, Martinelli and Pepe. Majority of fans if not all want all aforementioned starting but moi dear coach won't but will rather start players that would force u to enter TV nd knack his ass comot. |

Jodera:It you need more than 1hat Auba is giving bring 200million sign Mbappe or Harland. If not love your dog the way it is. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 10:48am On Feb 27, 2021 |
Spy360:Lol... We are just saying about our improvement going forward, or improvement in Auba's play. Halaand and mbappe isn't the only great player or striker in the world, there are players we can actually get that can effectively do that on a cheap. All we just need to do is look deeper or scout deeper. Either within or around other clubs. Saying we need 200m to sign mbappe or halaand is you giving an excuse for us not to improve |

Jodera:Let me ask a simple question. How deep can one look to find such a striker, that others won't find? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 4:09pm On Feb 27, 2021*. Modified: 11:03am On Feb 28, 2021 |
Spy360:They are everywhere and that's the job of scouts. One just need to look deep. The halaand of today wasn't popular as at 2yrs ago the way he is now. Today you're quoting over 200milla to get him. Martinelli wasn't known before, but now arsenal fans won't mind seeing him starting games. If we can see a taller martinelli as a striker, even if na for itua'yes", e go dope . That tells you they're everywhere, just waiting to be plucked.Even the balogun can be fine-tuned into the van persie we want. But one thing I know is that Auba style of play in modern day football were he relies on only positioning and nothing else will hardly take us far. The day he won't even be clinical, that will be the worst day for us. I appreciate him for his goals, but there's this feeling of wanting more from him. Not saying he should fortfeit his goalscoring for interplay and work rate but those two are important too. He's already old, reason I said we should get a more rounded striker. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkhalifa(m): 8:51pm On Feb 27, 2021 |
He is primarily a poacher and plays off the shoulder of the last man.Infact he is the true definition of a goal poacher. When the team is playing well he will score lots of goals but when the team is playing badly his poor ability on the ball is massively exposed.Due to the fact that he doesn’t like to get involved in build up play that much and always waiting for that one opportunity this is what is usually translated as laziness as seen usually on bad days for Arsenal Aubameyang is similar to Ozil. They approach games the same way. Just like Ozil whose weapon were his final balls and assists, Abumeyang only weapon is his goal scoring exploit. He is our fastest player but he barely runs on the field. Soon when the goals start drying, he will become as useless as Ozil. He is another fraud waiting to happen. If we really are serious we should be doing everything to keep Laca. Copied. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:01pm On Feb 27, 2021 |
Fkhalifa:I agree to almost everything except this. In fact, if I were to choose between both, I'll choose auba over laca. At least auba to some extent guarantees goals, can't say same about laca |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 9:19am On Feb 28, 2021 |
Fkhalifa:You are spot on with Ur first paragraph and the second paragraph till u mentioned keeping Laca ahead of Auba. No serious coach will keep Laca ahead of Auba, except maybe Klopp sha; the way he uses 2 potent wingers in Mane and Sallah to get goals while Fiminho the CF only passes the ball to them. If we decide to rely on Lacazette on goals then we are in for a long thing. He's not an everyday goal scorer, he's shown that over the years. The best bet is for us to get another striker that can score regularly and create when things get tough. |
