HP Envy M6, Core i5, 2.60ghz, 6gb Ram, 750gb, Keyboard Light For 80k by DaveHert(m): 8:23am On Feb 28, 2021
Model: HP Envy M6 -1035dx
Display: 15.6-inch
Processor: Intel Core i5 - 3230M
CPU: 2.60GHz (Dual-Core)
RAM: 6GB RAM (DDR3)
ROM: 750GB HDD
Video Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7600M
4MB L2 Cache
Sound: Beats Audio with 2 speakers (Louder than the average PC)
Keyboard: Full-size island-style backlit keyboard
Touchpad with on/off button and precision multi-touch.

External Ports: 3 SuperSpeed USB 3.0
1 Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0
1 HDMI... Etc
Battery: 2hrs
fingerprint reader

For 80k.

I'm selling for such a giveaway price because the screen has a few lines but they are most noticeable on black background. But still very usable as it is... that's how I've been using it, worst case change the screen for 15k or less (check images below), and the screen carcass is a little weak.

Other than those it's a perfectly functioning PC and I've been using it as it is for a year now, I just have 2 PC's now and no longer need this one.

So if I decide to change the screen for 15k and add that to ur 60 = 75k... So you want to buy a laptop of that spec for 75k? That's not even half of the laptops worth.

Don't misunderstand me, the idea is that someone can get something high end for an affordable price. I could fix it at any time but that would defeat the purpose as I'd have to sell it for a more expensive price. If it's not for you simply leave it and move.

it's you that don't get it. Do you think it's easier to repair things in Naija? if it's, why not repair it yourself and make more money by increasing its price.

Someone will buy your laptop finish, to repair it go become wahala.
Oga, Engineers plenty wey no sabi jack. Either they use your laptop for more experiments or they keep telling you they can't find the right screen for the laptop.

You see my problem...it's the ignorance in your comment "I'm ready to buy for 100k". Lol, the fact that you think a 100k would be able to buy this if the screen didn't have issues is laughable.

First off, the value of the laptop is 150k if I replaced the screen, but that is secondary. My original point is that the laptop is usable as it is, I have been using it with the screen like this for a year. So anyone desperate for a high spec laptop can buy it and use it as it is until when they do decide to change it. Even the most basic of Engineers can change screen, it is just a flex plug away. Now can you stop digging for holes where there aren't any? If it's not for you leave it alone. Simple.

Lol. so you can't repair the screen with 15k and get an additional 5k if it's that easier to repair or better still repair and sell for 150k, make an additional 55k?

I know your type.
Only a novice would buy and think he can repair it easily. By the time the buyer starts looking for who to repair, I hope he won't later sell it as scraps.

Omo, I'm a little confused. Did I mention anywhere in there that my laptop had a faulty hardware? Bro I said screen might need replacing... Stop acting like a smart ass.

If you have a trust problem or think everyone has ulterior motive then please keep that negativity with you and leave the damn thread. I've been on Nairaland way longer than you have and I've sold a few of my gadgets here... You don't see anyone following me around screaming.

I literally bought a TV with a line from @Sompto here on Nairaland because it was extremely cheap for a 40" smart tv. If something has a minor defect, people tend to sell it cheaper not because they are looking to scam you but to make a bargain deal. Grow up man.

Sir... I'm sorry but I'd have to butt in here as both a seller of gadgets and an engineer. From your comment, you seem not to really understand how devices work or the laptop business is... You seem to forget that a seller could be limited with funds and won't make sense if he spends the little he has to change a defect, then increase the price only for him to wait for months to get a buyer after spending money fixing the defects...

Now, let's take the scenario where he fixes the issue, he increases the price to the laptop's worth, would you actually buy for that amount? Be honest...

- Secondly, there would be lots who would actually negotiate the laptop to laughable prices... Let's say he fixes the screen and carcass issues and he's selling for 100k, you'd still see lots who would come negotiating the price down to the price he was actually selling the laptop. So, what would be his gain after fixing when the majority of the interested parties are pricing far less than what he wants to sell it?

There are lots of customers who price laptops like they're biscuits...and it gets to beat one's mind if they actually think a laptop that was 70k 4yrs ago would still be the same now... I was even pissed when a customer said he needed a brand new i5 for 50k like what kind of request is that?

I'd give you a heads up, Sir. Anytime you want to buy a laptop on nairaland, first go to Amazon and check for the same laptop with the same specs. When you actually see the cost plus shipping fees, only would you appreciate the ones you saw cheap from a seller here in Nigeria. Only if you knew what it entails to have such laptops here in Nigeria

Omo, I've already given up on the guy. Let him continue living in that shell of his... I simply just spent a whole lot of money buying and shipping a new laptop and a 1TB SSD from the states and I'm currently running low on cash and would rather avoid any more spending... which is exactly why I didn't go ahead to fix this one before bringing it here.

I already have people calling to negotiate it for 65k, but that's too low which is why I still haven't sold it, don't know what this Werey is on about.

Below are images to support my earlier comment and if you check out the last image, you'll notice the smart TV I have at home has a line in the middle... I bought that here on Nairaland in 2019 and I've been using it without complain, if I had reasoned like this Werey I would have missed out on a good deal. As you can see the laptop I'm selling is connected to the TV through HDMI and is mostly used in streaming movies while I use the new PC for work.

Some buyers don't really know how costly and difficult it is to ship stuffs...considering that our Nigerian government had restricted us to $100 spending limit per month for buying things abroad and if one is not grounded or have a working PayPal, he can't get these laptops being shipped down.

Rather than appreciate the efforts, they negotiate and castigate without realizing we're actually making a loss even in the profit we think we ought to make.

Exactly, I'm not even a seller... Just a student and I've been managing that Laptop as it is but I do Web development on the side and wanted something more powerful. Hence the reason for the new PC. Spent close to 200k+ to get the new laptop. You can imagine how much of a hassle I went through with this nonesense government policies.

I'd have fixed the old one to sell at the value of the Laptop. But I'm on a tight budget and just need it gone as it's not being used and just sitting at home.

Thanks for your input man, that guy was really starting to piss me off.

You're only talking from the seller's perspective. What about the buyer's perspective?
What you don't understand is that end users' or consumers' purpose of buying things is different from a retailer.
Regardless of whether you bought your goods at expensive prices or not, what consumers want is VALUE FOR MONEY.
Even if the OP sells that laptop for 20k, but the buyer can't find who to repair the laptop and it got more damaged within a few weeks, do you think the buyer would still believe s/he made a smart choice?

When consumers are buying products, what they want is a product that won't give them problems. Nobody would want to be penny-wise and pound-foolish.

For someone that claimed to be a businessman and he's shipping goods from abroad, to repair a product for 15k within few hours and make more money shouldn't be a problem.
In fact, it's a smart business.
But no. He doesn't want that. Why? Because he wants to swindle a buyer into buying a product that has defects and may not be able to get repaired.

I finally clicked on your profile out of curiosity. saw the thread where you said you needed a core i5 Laptop for 50k.
Even if I stole it and it had hardware issues and couldn't be repaired and had lower spec I still wouldn't sell it to you for 50k. grin LMFAO I can see why my mentioning spending 200k+ is stressing that small brain of yours.

I guess English is lost on you. I specifically said I needed something more powerful. What I bought is 2x more powerful than this and has a Touchscreen. And one of the Laptops images shows a date dating back to August of last year... Lol I stole it? Because I've over spent and low on budget?

Lol, pls do check my profile out, just few months ago I sold my PS4 for 145k... I might be a student but financially it appears we aren't mates and you are feeling inferior hence your reason for calling me a thief.

Visit my Github page @Github.com/DaveHert and see some of my projects as a web dev, I know you'll not go so I'll drop clones of your favourite sites I've built with that PC I'm selling as personal projects, you can find the source code on my Github. Now what were you saying again? That I'm a what?

Lol. I understand the fact that you're a student, and that's why you've been using foul language from the beginning.
I give you that, I can't be dragging stupidity with you.

Because you claimed to have bought a laptop of 200k+ but find it hard to shell out 15k to repair a laptop, yet thinking you're richer than me shows how naive you're.

Now lemme school you son, cuz you're still kiddo. cheesy cheesy

Never spend all you have on gadgets or anything that doesn't appreciate except you're buying food or you're paying for your health or education.

Note that the fact that I'm looking for a laptop of 50k doesn't mean that's all I have like you.
Also, it doesn't mean I'm buying it for myself or personal use.
I know you can't think from this perspective. Your parochial mindset won't allow you to reason like this.
But should I blame you for that? No, you're still kiddo, son. It is normal if you still make schoolboy errors. cheesy cheesy

What is the wisdom in buying a 200k+ laptop but you can't afford 15k despite selling ps4 for 145k?
I guess you're just trying to form "I belong/big boy."
But the truth is you're actually struggling to maintain your illusion.

Of course, being a student and a kid is not surprising considering your lack of sense.

Now, on your defective laptop that you want to sell to an unsuspecting buyer.

Go and borrow money to repair it and come back to sell it for the right price.

Lmfao grin grin grin I've been the one using foul language from the start? How nice of you to play the victim role after in a situation you single handedly started. You want to school me? On spending money on gadgets? I know to you a laptop is just a gadget but to people like myself, a laptop is a work station and an investment that yields great financial returns. Lol, you're a really dumb fellow to be honest. But that's no surprise, with your poor gramatical construction I can see just how bright of a person you are... Lol.
First of all, go and learn spellings. It's graMMatical, not a single M.
Also, it's a "workstation", not a "work station."

Now let's get down to it, son, shall we?
I'm not playing a victim here, I'm only letting you know how stupid you're if you can't hold a conversation without resorting to foul language.
But like I said earlier, I can't blame you. You're still kiddo, and this is your learning stage. And I'm ready to correct your stupidity.

You claimed your gadget is a financial investment, yet you can't find 15k to repair a faulty laptop and earn more. Where is the wisdom in that? The joke is on you, son.
Well, I must be overrating you here. You lack business or investment sense. So going forward, I won't be surprised anymore.

Now you want to form a bigger man, how ironic kiddo?
A "bigger man" that lacks business acumen, can't hold a conversation, and still going around with fraudulent misrepresentation just to swindle an unsuspecting buyer.
Interesting, I must say. cheesy cheesy

Lemme advise you, son. This is not the right way to conduct a business. Asides from making profits, customer satisfaction should also be your watchword. What a customer want is "value for money, " not the cheapest price.

If you're thinking that way, Sir then companies like: Amazon, eBay & OfferUp won't be in existence because all these sites do not just sell complete laptops or devices but they sell some with issues as "Sold as parts" or would state the faults. Do you know why they do this? Exactly the same reason this person is selling...

I can bet that if this same laptop was showcased on either Amazon, eBay or OfferUp and it was easy for you to purchase it, you won't hesitate in buying it.

Items in this conditions are sold at discounted prices.... Where there would have been a problem would be if the laptop was sold at the exact or close to the exact price of the same laptop without issues. I've gotten devices with certain issues and fixed it and sold off without further issues... So, I think I've spoken as both a seller and buyer... I recently got a Dell XPS with display issues, didn't return it back for a refund because I found a solution to it and the end user is still enjoying it for a month without the issues I got...and that's a general issue from Dell.

I didn't return it back because I understood it's a gadget and as such, there would be situations beyond human control... If I couldn't find a solution, then I'd sit down with the seller to find a peaceful resolution. He was even apologising and requested I sent the laptop back for a refund but it was at a time where time wasn't on my side...

I just feel you could have avoided exchanging heated words and started off with something like:

"Ok, you're not settling for my price and you won't bulge on yours but if I'm to buy the laptop, I'd also pay you the 15k to get the screen and you'd fix it, but I'd need a month warranty that this laptop won't give me screen issues; can you do that?"

Then, if he doesn't agree, you'd back off the deal... Not everyone on NL has the intentions to swindle people off their hard earned money.

My customers are like my closest friends and there are many I've transacted with without ever seeing them but we chat like we live next doors...
What stands me a good stead with them is not just the sales I make to them but being there for them in times of issues because to me, "A good name is better than any profit."

In general, Sirs... I don't think there was a need to showcase wealth or who has more or refer to one's budget... Not called for. Even the richest man in the world would've had a time he had certain financial problems... One thing is clear, the laptop world is a very flexible world... One minute, you're hitting it and the next, you're not just hitting anything..

Point to note to the Seller:
- Just because the buyer has a lower budget doesn't fully necessitate the fact that that's all he has financially; for the proposed price could actually be his planned budget

- a buyer may have other items to get and as such, he won't want to compromise on other items to be bought by overspending past his budget

- It's your role to make the buyer feel comfortable buying your laptop and providing assurances of no issues arising, stating what actions would be taken if should exist.

- You should enlighten your client on the actual cost of what you're selling and how the issues on a laptop you're selling won't affect him/her when bought..

Point to note to the buyer
- This a business that involves importation and you can't just believe each item would or should go for your particular budget... It's a different thing if we were a manufacturing country and not an importing country of these gadgets.

- You should endeavor to ask for assurances, hints about costing and resolution of issues if they arise.

- You should endeavor to check for price ranges of certain items and if you can't find, check for the cost of a particular item with someone, ask for the availability of certain items so as to help in deciding whether you're to purchase a laptop or not.

- Even top brands sell devices and gadgets with certain issues and as such, nothing is perfect.

So, Sirs... Let this post be free from heated exchanges. Do have a wonderful day, Sirs.
