Despite the pronouncement last week by the Kwara State government directing all public schools in the state to henceforth allow female students to use the hijab, the last appears not to have been heard on the issue as it concerns schools with Christian heritage.https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/446099-kwaras-hijab-controversy-continues-despite-govts-directive.html

Injustice is what you get when you use an Abdulrasaq to officiate a match between David and Bello. Honestly both religion leaders should be concerned on how Sheik Gumi will not soon pay their schools a visit instead of fighting over hijab. Or isn't Ilorin closer to Niger same way Niger is close to Zamfara? |

Bery simple things but we always make them complex. I don't know why we always try making mountains out of mole hills. For private schools established with missionaries' doctrines, the dress codes are usually clearly specified in documents accompanying admission offers. Same applies to schools established with Muslim doctrines. For public schools, dress code are also specified in the documents and in a area with mixed religions, colours of hijabs are also specified for uniformity. This is very common in the North. But I still don't understand how this should now be reason for muscle flexing again. ![]() |

The world is moving ahead and yet we are boggled by trivialities. The men who rule this country knows how to manipulate the masses using religious and tribalistic divides. It has always worked so why change it? Wash and rinse. Repeat!! |

Our1999 Constitution law preaches religious tolerance. The national ethics shall be Discipline, Integrity, Dignity of Labour, Social, Justice, Religious Tolerance, Self-reliance and Patriotism, the Constitution stipulates. Let us all live in peace like brothers and sisters. Let us make love, not war. Peace is all we want in our nation.
