Job can be defined as employment, work or occupation, it is a person's role in society. More specifically, a job is an activity, often regular and often performed.

Jobs are not created from the blues, they are created via our daily specific activities.

They are coined from our daily habits alongside country policies..

The main purpose of this thread is the new habit of money cakes in place of actual cakes.. some might call it bluff, but its becoming a trend and gradually becoming a norm.

The activities that involve cakes are diminishing daily..

Weddings are on an alltime low, Birthdays are barely celebrated these days. How then do we want the bakers to feed when we deliberately kill jobs with trendy habits.

Of what use is a money cake to the society, what economic gain has it added to the economy?.. zero/zilch, but has taken food out the mouth of millions from that created through cake-baking.

Please let's be cautious, our money cake trendy habit kill jobs, our economy is at the brink on employment.. we cant keep harming ourselves. Coming from our so-called celebrities goes to show most dont think beyond their noses.

Note: I am not a Baker, just a concerned citizen.

The money cake is just cardboard and ribbon, with already manufactured currency..

But the actual cake involves
Flour from farmers
Sugar
Designers
Eggs from poultry farmers
Word from carpenters
Logistics
Kitchen equipments and utensils from traders
Intelligence from education etc....

We are too populated to be killing jobs.

It is their choice, you can't tell government to force people on what to do with their celebrations. I have not read, seen or heard it done anywhere else. wink wink wink

This is baseless... There is nothing like people's habits killing a job. When new job niche get created, some are being destroyed.

The advent of petrol driven cars rendered those that specializes in horse breeding jobless.

When GSM was first introduced, it created jobs for call centre agents and recharge card vendors... This is 2021, you can even get a phone for as low as 2k if you want, so nobody needs their services anymore, I can't even remember the last time i purchased recharge card from vendors, the advent of internet banking is pushing those one out of business.

Cybercafé was very popular decades ago... Cheap Smart phones with cheap internet data has made most of them to close shops.

All this explanation is just to tell you that, jobs get destroyed while creating a new one... No big deal

What then is the solution?
STAY UPDATED!

Don't let the world leave you behind, because it's always on the move. Update your skills... If you are a baker and you realize people now prefer money cakes... Update your skills and be creative... Look for ways to blend both flour cakes and money cakes.

The world will not stop progressing because some people needs to keep their job... NEVER.

For real i dont fancy it for one reason. there is a beauty when you cut cake and share with your friends. its a sign of Love and Unity. when they take and eat, they wish you happy birthday and pray for you. no matter how very small each portion is. but money cake or rubbish, they dont share the money in the first place. and if you want to share, how many people do you want to give money? Rubbish. Birthday means Thanking God together with your friends and Family for the gift of another year. so how do you rejoice with your friends? by doing money cake that you will take to your account? The Culture of cutting cake during birthday and weddings is a very beautiful Culture. if i must do money cake to anyone, i have to do a Big Birthday Cake too.

At least, payments are made for the money cakes too. Just like some people make houses out of muds, they can't say the block industry is hindering them. So, let everyone step up to the trend.

You cant force them to do your cake. Free choice.

Money card is done with cardboard. Okay. Okay.

I thought they use real money to make the money cake.
It is not allowed to use money anyhow.
It cost a lot to print money.
CBN would stop them doing money cake if they use real money.

@OP...
Thank you for your post! You are indeed an intelligent, educated and good citizen of Nigeria.
All these people insulting government everytime don't understand how their own actions (and inactions) affect their quality of life and access to basic things.

Nigerians are so ill informed and the worst part is whenever someone tries to informed them, they all tend to band together and rain invectives and insults.

What the OP is saying is nothing but the absolute truth!
