Appeal Court Ran Away From Hearing Our Case Against Proscription- Nnamdi Kanu by gidgiddy: 11:36am On Mar 05, 2021 |
IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has revealed that the court of appeal in Abuja refused to sit when IPOB's case against proscription came up for hearing. Broadcasting from Houston, Texas, USA, Nnamdi said that the court of appeal and the Nigerian government have been using delay tactics to try to frustrate IPOB's case from being heard since 2018. When the matter finally came for hearing on the 3rd of March 2021, the appeal court refused to sit, without reason. Kanu however said that no matter how much they delay the case, it will eventually be heard, and IPOB will be de-proscribed. The Federal Government of Nigeria obtained a court order proscribing IPOB in September 2017 and declared the group a terrorist organisation. IPOB has been in court trying to overturn the order since then. The matter has since escalated to the Court of Appeal and was due to be heard on the 3rd of March, however, the Court did not sit on that day. 1 Like |
