Your list includes the massacres and genocide that lead up to the civil war events that yoruba media spearheaded and setup Igbo's to be killed in Numbers. Was it not Yoruba press that tag the Coup an Igbo Coup regardless of its ethnic composition
No matter how many Revisionism you engage in , the fact remains the January 1966 coup was an igbo coup.....you would tag it an ibo coup if you belong to the other tribes whose leaders weee massacred . Composition of the coup plotters is over 80% ibo so that makes it an igbo coup coupled with the fact that NO SINGLE IBO LEADER was killed
Besides you all are on overdrive because of the attrocities of a few fulanis men and have tagged every fulanis herdsman a killer ,so why won't others tag a coup with over 80% Ibos an ibo coup.

What Ibos need is to ask other nigerians for forgiveness for that coup not all these Revisionism .....and playing the victim card everytime . Other tribes are wiser that you think ,

Adewale Ademoyega a key player in the 1966 coup, who also happens to be Yoruba in his book "Why we struck" said

"There was no decision at our meeting to single out any ethnic group for elimination. Our intentions were honourable, our views were national and our goals were idealistic. Even those earmarked for arrest, four were northerners, two were Westerners and two were Easterners."

The quote was from a scratched faced brother not me, The coup was not an Igbo coup until the Yoruba media labelled it such, however I am glad that you owned up to the fact that it was your media that labelled it an Igbo coup knowing fully well that the military does not classify by ethnicity.

Igbos were massacred in their numbers in the counter coup which comprised mainly Hausa-fulani 99.9% so why was it not tagged a Hausa or Fulani Coup? By yoruba press. This shows the treacherous and deceitful nature of the yoruba's and their media.

The so called Fulanis that have been tagged by Southerners are the Bandits, kidnappers, Herdsmen living unauthorized in the forest, have you seen any Hausa or Fulani living in Igbo towns or city being harassed or tagged as such? No, you only find this happening in Yorubaland Shasha, Ibarapa, IganIgan, yewa etc. So that classification is best left to your people same way you classified a military coup to be an Igbo coup and failed to classify a Hausa-fulani coup, hypocrites.

Igbo's ask Nigerians for forgiveness? for a coup carried out by the Nigerian military, how old are you boy? I hope I am not wasting my time with a jamb candidate? On the other hands yorubas are being slaughtered in their hundreds in Thier backyard (SW), don't you think you should be the one asking for forgiveness from the Igbo's hence the slaughter might never cease, it could just be karma, you know?

You did not disprove the claim that 80% of the coup plotters are igbos......and the fact that NO SINGLE IGBO LEADER WAS KILLED.....that is the main reason it's an Igbo coup.
If you like call me a kingdrtgaten kid, it will not help your Revisionism. I am a student of history and i stand b opinion. Igbos should apologize instead of seeking to rewrite history , I bet you that will be the beginning of the national rebirth you seek. Remember your past leaders were nationalists (zik and co) they knew it's in the best interests of Ibos to be nationalists, the coup is what soiled people's mind towards you people and seeking for forgiveness is a step towards forgetting all the pains the coup and war caused both sides. From britain to australia to belgium and canada we have seen how their leaders have asked for forgiveness for the atrocities committed by their forefathers probably hundreds of years ago, so what the big deal Ibos apologizing to Nigeria ?

Nobody has ever said the counter coup was not HAUSA COUP,.......i have never heard anyone deny .its only Ibos that are always rewritting their own par of the coup

I am not a Northerner.

Infact i am from that State of Igboland that westerners love to hate, Me and are from thesame town "A-E" a border community with Nnewi, Nnobi, Ichida and Nnokwa people from my state would already know this town. So guy cool down and use your brain not emotions.

Northerners, Hausa's, Fulani's or any other ethnicity is not our enemy, Fulani Herdsmens, Bandits, Armed Gunmen, Agbero, One million boys, etc or any group the distrupts our livelihood, farms, businesses within and outside Igboland is and should be our enemy not Northerners.

Lets be guided...

Disproving that a coup was or was not an Igbo coup is irrelevant because it would be a waste of time, when the military that carried out the coup does not classify it personnel by ethnicity. Even if it was 100% Igbo soldiers it remains a military coup and that is why the counter coup was not called a Hausa coup, The "66 coup became an Igbo coup when the Yoruba press gave the northerner's the impression of ethnic cleansing in the military.

The coup targeted corrupt leaders so the onus is on you to prove that the Igbo leaders speared in the 66 coup were corrupt. Igbo's who are majorly Christians only ask God for mercy and forgiveness of sins not man so save your apology for Fulani Herdsmen and marauders ravaging SW farms and communities.

Speaking of apologies I hope you are aware that a number of western leaders have called on yorubas and Nigeria in general to apologize to Ndigbo and seek their forgiveness for the roles played before and during the civil war so your attempt at revisiting history is a failed one.

Igbo's are Nationalist even till this day and have showed a true national consciousness through nation building in every part of the country same cannot be said of any other ethnicity in the country, nevertheless there is a Biafra consciousness which have been awaken in every Igbo man notwithstanding Igbo's are unshaken and uncompromised in nation building till this day.

The July 1966 coup was never called a Hausa coup it was called a "counter coup" or the "rematch" regardless of its 99.9% Hausa-Fulani composition. So stop telling bare-faced lies, I will forgive your ignorance though.
