In the main power distribution room, the power quality analyser was plug for about 3hrs to monitor and examine the quality of power distribution within the facility, below are the picture updates and our observations


* The supply voltage is healthy
* A single phase distribution system is noticed, with all loads on blue phase only. The other two phases are abandoned. This will caused unbalanced load the 30kVA generator, and effect is damaging.
* Excessive current is seeing on neutral line.
* No earthing system around here.
* Load on blue phase alone gets above 200A
* Frequency is normal
*Harmonics is fine

My regret is we could not use you for the original Installation but that is another story.

I have a series of initial positions I will set out in following notes due us to consider, at least until I receive the final report.
[2:37 PM, 2/21/2021] Client. We are paying for 3 phase supply, have a 3 phase generator, 3 phase DBs and PHCN meter - but only connected to one phase?
I can understand if the upper apartments are single phased but the ground floor and outbuildings need to be distributed across 3 phases.

I have to say the quality of your work is really really good. I have seen many plumbing/electrical installation works here on nairaland and I did not even know this level of precision and neatness was possible.


Have you worked on a brick building before? I was wondering how one can run wires and pipes in a brick building without ruining the look of the brick (like the pictures below). Excluding the kitchen and bathroom areas which obviously will be tiled, how can you hide wires/pipes everywhere else? I can't think of anything other than the usual chiseling&plastering or just leaving them exposed on the surface. I'm assuming the plan/design of house matters but I don't know to what extent. Will be glad if you can shed light on this. Thanks.

Sorry for the late response,

We were fully involved from the foundation level till the project is fully completed. We didn't cut the wall for our pathways we used the hollow side side of the block. The only thing we cut wall for is the boxes because we need to recess them

We have our own standard operating procedures (SOP) that we follow . We don't install anyhow. Below is a little of our operating procedures ..

-Study the MEP/Architectural drawings
-Do workshop drawings
-Get the right tools for the job
-Request for 1m level from main contractor or builder to have uniformity in our switches and sockets height
-We do our marking out with the aid of blue line and market
-We request for plaster gauge from main contractor or builder in other to know the depth of of switch and socket boxes.
-Cutting of walls for the switch box and socket box.
- Fixing of boxes with the use of mortar.
-Cutting of walls for pipes and fixing of pipes

Didn't even cross my mind to use the hollow section. I'm sure it would be a tricky process due to the small size of the bricks. Thank you.
