AmazingELixir:You are not being fair. My mother is a victim as she is a staff in one of the affected schools. She has her documents, which I have seen. All are from the Rivers State Government. Her staff Identity card carries Rivers State Government. They have been paid for many years until about five (5) years ago. Why was the State Government paying them for over twenty (20) years only for Governor Nyesom Wike's administration to come now to say they are not staff of the State Government? Meanwhile, it might interest you to know that the aggrieved teachers took this same matter to the National Industrial Court where they won and the state government asked to, in addition to calculating and paying their backlog of salaries, the government should pay the teachers an additionalcompensation of N2m each for them to wipe their tears. The matter was appealed by the Rivers State Government at the Appeal Court and the same teachers won again, with the Appeal Court declaring that the Rivers State Government calculate and pay the suffering teachers their unpaid salaries. So, why is the state government still adamant to pay the suffering teachers? Why the wickedness? May I emphasize here that labour matters from the National Industrial Court terminate at the Court of Appeal. Despite their sufferings, the teachers, who have their career to protect, have not relented in going to work. Why the wickedness and punishment on the innocent teachers from the State Government? Let us always comment with human feelings. Today your person is not negatively affected. Tomorrow it might be your person in such a situation. May God help us. |

bishopclin:Youngman the fact that your mom is affected still doesn't change the fact that the schools in question are creations of the higher institutions and in no way covered by the state civil service commission...you talked about been paid for over 20 year....how old is Ajuru University of Education and the Port harcourt polytechnic, stop spreading falsehood to elicit pathos. Have you bothered to ask yourself why the university demonstration secondary school(UDSS) Aluu, the creation of the University of Port Harcourt is sustained by the university and not the federal government, or uniport is no longer a federal institution.. I sympathize with the situation your household is passing through as a result of the situation but the fact still remains that those workers are not captured in the state automated payment system because they ain't seen as employees of the state. Even if they are being paid before do you know if it is from the state government allocation to the institutions? |

AmazingELixir:I would rather not go into any form of argument with you. However, it's unfortunate that you carefully and tactically ignored the aspect where I stated that the affected teachers won their cases on the matter in court. I also want you to know that those schools under the state government have been in existence for over twenty (20) years. Check your facts. I rest my case. |

With prices of food and bills doubling daily. Are some of our leaders really normal? GOD WILL JUDGE THEM! |

This is not true. If you are from River state and not current with events in the state you will think this poster is saying the truth. The Rivers state government through the State Assembly passed a law handing over all missionary schools back to the curches and also asked the various state-owned institutions to handle their staff nursery/primary and secondary schools by themselves because the tertiary institutions are profit-making institutions that is capable to run their own staff school. There is an established law on that. Let us not be deceived. Governor Wike is the best governor of the PDP extraction, for now, commissioning and awarding people-oriented projects on weekly basis in Rivers state. This is the bad handi-work of Amaechi who has never brought a single project home since becoming a minister in Buhari's cabinet except for confusion and crisis. Wike is Working
