U.S.A is how's it's supposed to be spelt if you adhere to grammar rules. Without the full stop, it sounds like 'yuuuuuh-saaaah'. I know almost everyone writes it without the full stop though.

If I could choose, I would have been born in the United States, not in Russia. I still want to move to the states for permanent residence. But now it's hard for me. Of course, with the help of the site on the following link, I made my life much easier and got rid of the unnecessary fuss with documents. But it would have been easier if I'd been born here.
