Let me call you all attention to BOLT new strategy.

Probably their statistics showed to them that their is increase in cash payment hence their new strategy.

I noticed when you have a high negative balance and you pay into their Citibank they will intentionally refuse to reflect the balance until you are cash trip restricted, so then you will only take card trips till you get to 3k before your payment will be reflected. My payment to their account is 3days and counting and it's yet to reflect .

Abort all mission to lekki, vgc,Ajah, epe, awoyaya or coming from there to mainland. Traffic na war.

Yeah, thats where I stay at the moment but like you know I'm part of the geng that's moving lagos around so it will be difficult to make out time unless you wanna pay 3k/hr for keeping me at a spot grin

I'm yet to even find time to assist one of us here that wants to master his driving technics (i feel so disappointed after promising and have since then not been able to fulfill my promise) I hope I do some day. So you understand why I can't make any promise because I've mouths to feed, rent, fee, plus other bills to pay holding to the fact that I'm renting the car I'm using, so its really not convenient with me as the only time I've left I use to rest and play with my kids and deliberate issues with my partner(sp).

The only thing that can work is, try be open minded and state your concerns and worries here and I assure you to get justice done to it. If that is not convenient with you kindly ring me or send a WhatsApp message to my line: 803, 513. 28. 76.

Who is the person that needs to perfect their driving, I can be of help. I'm at Ojodu Berger currently.

@ Kanoski, I did this trade full time on bolt for about 2 months and it appears you own your car which gives you a lot of flexibility to succeed in this trade. Permit me to share my survival strategies with you (although I have a rating that fluctuated between 4.4 - 4.6).

- I don't do the island rush thing: The island has a lot of sassy and ill manner kids (apologies to residents there). I live on the mainland and "POSITION" my car to received trips that keep me on the mainland. By mainland I mean Ikeja, Ilupeju, Yaba not mushin, powerline and co. Position just simply means there are places you park that determine the trips you get. There were times I did 100% of my trips with Ikeja , Ogudu, Ojudu, Ilupeju......good roads, well-mannered riders and good money.....also mainland pips are less likey to keep you waiting for long periods and open to you talking to them (my experience)

- Call before you leave you move to pick up a rider and have a 1 min talk: calling gives you an insight into the kind of rider you are going to meet, it also helps you "position" yourself well before you meet them. I have had instances where I cancelled trips just because the riders sounded very rude over the phone. If you carry such riders, they will give you poor rating, spoil your mood (causing you to transfer it to subsequent riders) and probably mess up your car

- dress well, keep your car clean & in good working condition (including your A/C).

- Go over and beyond where the driver deserves it. Let me give you examples:

- I once took a girl from VI to somewhere in marina. I ended the trip on Eko bridge because I realise she was fidgety and ask that I end the trip on the bridge. I told her Eko bridge isn't safe and she opened up she doesn't have money to pay for being stuck in traffic. I told her not to worry, collected what she had and took her there nonetheless. Except she is a demon, she will rewards such with 5* and moreso, if she had dropped in traffic, I wont be able to pick any else nonetheless.

-On bolt, let riders know the route you are following based on the map (on indriver, you are king of your route) - a lot of issues arise from route-related disputes

- take time to rest - driving when stressed often means you have little tolerance to riders misbehaving

Let me stop here, others can also tell you how they cope

this is really good bro...
i really appreciate

Do you reject card trips ? In all my years of Ehailing I never paid into Uber or bolt account. I wonder how it happens. I know the system shuffle trips with cash and card to balance

You try by crowning your words with the last line.

But one thing, that's why they even tell you during the physical training "use your instinct will online", oyinbo and yankee different and you can't apply the abroad system with the 9ja own.

With that I take calls at my convenience otherwise I watch it ring out unless the rider ask why i don't want to take it. If I sense panic in them then i take the call else I explain why.

As per drivers ratings, no one knows how far riders can go to rate u low, even if there's another rate worst more than 1 star, riders will use it on we drivers.
Ok I picked a lady around surulere, on our way going my phone keep ringing so I later asked for her permission if I can pick d call and she said yes, she nw asked me if riders doesn't allow drivers to pick calls, I said yes nw especially all this island girls, she nw said some drivers worst o, that they'll keep making long calls while driving Nd riders dare not talk but after d end of d trip they'll give d driver 1star with very bad review.
She also said she first look at my face Wen I reach d PU that I wasn't smiling and that already give a bad impression already before she later knows I'm nice and jovial...
She gisted me about how she show a driver pepper while driving her to her house and d driver said he can't go further cos d road in their area is very bad and his his car is low, she said she told d driver that's not her fault, all drivers knows Nigeria roads are bad, that he shld hv raise his car before he join d platform... After alot of dragging The driver sha manage to go front a little to like 4 houses before her house and because of this she rate d driver so low, reported him, send his num to her friends to report him as well... U can imagine how far she went to block the driver frm his career. I just pity the man, and riders that do this d most are ladies btw 16-25 years (my observation). What I'm saying in essence is that u can't please a rider 100%, jst do ur best and leave the rest.

I am trying hard to understand, you took permission from rider to answer your phone? What happened to your hands free? I always carry my earpiece along with me. Jeez!

Guys abeg make una no crucify the guy joor, he did what he feels was okay for him.

@Bammzie, the implication of your action is that the mentality of get permission from driver to make call will sink into her head going forward and other drivers will pay with their ratings for not doing so.

You give courtesy to who deserve it and when you see or meet with such people you don't need to be told.

You mean if I pick up those ill mannered boys or girls I'll be asking them "please can I make a call?"

Anyways, all fine.

In my family house,we have a fridge that was bought in 1987,its still working till now,we only changed the gas once, same with soft drinks that were sold then, you will see the quality in these products.

The day i saw a bottle of fanta, that was sold in the US,na that day i know say na poison we dey drink here.
My bro, u are very correct. Tbe electronic set my fad bought in 81 for #16.50k is still working perfectly till date. How we got to this Stage is a question that needs answers

Great people of the ehauling community..

i greet una.....

pls i really need to understand the RULLING on RPM of a car(corrolla)

mechanics say that at idle speed, 1000 rpm is the norm which i always argue with as i know very well that it is suppose to be around 750 to 800 RPM...

so after fixing my car recently...
i notice that my car started doing brake n quince.
my RPM was at 750 at the time..
mech says its because the RPM at idle was too low that i should increase it to 1000RPM.

so after increasing it..
i noticed its stable now but am still not comfortable with it....

pls i need advice..

Let me start with the bolded.

You should always tell the rider when starting the trip. In some cases, especially when they are seated at the front, I point at my phone as I inform them I'm starting the trip. In most cases they just say it's fine. In one case I experienced, the lady sat at the back and she said I didn't show her when I started the trip and I told her the notification is always sent on the app when the trip is started.

Personally, I don't feel it's a big deal telling the rider you are starting the trip as it's just to eliminate any feelings being defrauded or the likes. Some drivers would slide arrive without getting to pickup and by the time the driver gets to pickup, the rider is already waiting and your paid waiting is already on 5mins. Some drivers would even go on to start the trip before even picking up the rider.

Guys, if we are being honest with ourselves, all these are cases of fraud and it's wrong.

About two weeks ago, I picked up two ladies at Thomas Estate on a Friday night. They were going to Lekki and it was on surge. Before I started the trip, I showed the one sitting in front that I was starting the trip. Immediately I moved like 5m, the one seated behind said the person they were going to meet said there was heavy traffic everywhere so they should reschedule. She said they were no more going. I told her I've already started the trip. I ended it and it displayed N900. She was like ah an, we didn't even move! I turned to the one in front and asked her, "You saw when I started the trip, right?", she said she did. That quashed what would have been an argument of whether I started the trip before I came and all that, and I was paid.

Like I said, it's no big deal when you tell your riders you are starting the trip.

For taking permission before making calls, I wouldn't even bear the thought of a complete stranger listening in on my private conversations. Besides it's even wrong to make calls while driving because of distractions and all, that's why you would most likely be arrested while making a phone call while driving (even when in traffic) except of course you are using a handsfree device.

Bottom line is, we are in a service industry and as such, our aim should be to make our 'customers' as comfortable as possible because whether we like it or not, of there are no riders, there would be no drivers...
