kingbee90:Whichever way you say it, your correct BUT I got my TIN from FIRS website (www firs gov ng..TIN validation section ) And the discussion isn't about who issues it, I brought the FIRS into it to clarify timing of TIN availability. If you say it is state, state still supply Federal then, because it is on FIRS website . |

kingbee90: Note: As a business name certificate holder, you are to pay two taxes, First with FIRS as VAT, and secondly, as Personal Income tax with your state IRS. That means you will need two TIN numbers, one and most recognised with the Federal Inland revenue service FIRS and secondly with your State IRs. For now Joint Tax Borad is not working, I personally confirmed this with a visit to their website and a visit to my FIRS in my state, and the official confirmed this. So first, get your TIN at FIRS ( Most recognised ), used for yourloan application and account opening. State IRs when you decide you want to start paying State Tax. Hope this helps anyone in need of this info. Requirements to get a TIN at FIRS 1. Fill your tin application form at the FIRS office close to you 2. Prepare your company letter headed and writr an application letter for obtaining a TIN with the commission. 3. Go with a utility bill and your BVN now mandatory 4. Go with your company stamp so you can stamp your application letter and the form you will fill at the office. 5.Go with a photocopy or direct print of your CAC certificate and the accompanying documents that comes with your cac. TIN collection may take upto 1 day to 2 weeks, depending on the network situation of the commissions officials browsing device or the platform. Just my tiny contribution this morning. Hope it helps 3 Likes 1 Share |

rioundre:business name got their TIN from state board of internal revenue because they their tax to the state while limited liability company pays to FIRS and so got their TIN from FIRS. once you got your TIN from either FIRS or state revenue JTB will automatically generate another TIN for you. you don't need to go JTB. my company have two TIN, one with FIRS and one from JTB |

essay007: read what I said about JTB. business name pay tax to the state that's my take. they pay tax under personal income tax act now finance act and limited pay tax under company income tax act now finance act. that is my point. whether relocated or not, let's take a bank for example, they pay their tax under company income tax to FIRS and still pay personal income tax to the states on behalf of their staff in each state of the federation, that means they have tin in each state they have their branches in. if zenith Bank operate in Kano, it pay its staff income tax to kano and so in Lagos , gombe, enugu etc but at end of the year pay its company income tax to FIRS. if you understand this so is apply to any business relocated to another state or open a branch or business unit in another state |
