Rulling On RPM by Kanoski(m): 11:24am On Mar 13, 2021
pls i really need to understand the RULLING on RPM of a car(corrolla)
mechanics say that at idle speed, 1000 rpm is the norm which i always argue with as i know very well that it is suppose to be around 750 to 800 RPM...
so after fixing my car recently...
i notice that my car started doing brake n quince.
my RPM was at 750 at the time..
mech says its because the RPM at idle was too low that i should increase it to 1000RPM.
so after increasing it..
i noticed its stable now but am still not comfortable with it as it kinda consumes a Lil more fuel....

so i wanna know if the is a problem with my car or that is just the norm..

car in question is an 04 corolla.
i look forward to hearing from you all

You know, but you let him mess it up anyway.
just reverse back to where it was and stay away from that mechanic He is only doing thing for his own good

You should not have let that mechanic adjust anything with that screw driver. That thing he adjust will cause high fuel consumption. First of all you need to change your mechanic, get a good mechanic that will revert it back to factory setting.

how do you mean? Mine has been slightly above 1000 rpm. I keep complaining but they keep telling me it is alright that way. I finally got one to help me reduce it but he was unable to. The screw wasn’t getting it Lower. He said it’s another part of the engine causing it. What do you think?

same with me. My high rpm slightly above 1000 at idle makes my car consume fuel. They tried to reduce it but could not.

i guess when they tried,
it will quince when u brake?

mechs are just lazy to detect the problem..
so the quick solution is to increase the rpm
