Good day everyone, I am in the process of getting a honda civic and I am torn between getting a hybrid or a "normal" civic. I need your advice on the best one to go with in terms of maintenance and longevity. Thank you very much in advance!

Both are OK the ICE or Hybrid civic are good. Though the 01 to 05 civic hybrid is more rampant in Nigeria and it is also the one most converted to ICE when water pass Garri.

The cons of hybrid are
1. Lack of qualified technicians to do the right things when trouble start

2. The battery packs are expensive to replace when depleted

3. Converting it from hybrid to ICE isn't straight forward something kazeem would always preach when they see they can't fix the issue

4. Hybrid needs diagnosis with right equipment when faulty so you must have a medium personal scanner

5. Hybrid doesn't do well in flooded areas.

Hybrid is a good thing to own if you follow regular maintenance and you are good with your hands you can even fix some minor issues.

I will pick the altima if my major movement is interstate and I want premium interior design and accessories.

Go for a normal Honda Civic, leave the Hybrids alone.

What's the update on the ride Sir? I intend getting one myself. Also contemplating on hybrid. How is the fuel consumption, engine and the car in general? Would you still prefer it to other brands?

But some people will say civic does not have leg issue

Don't mind him, your mechanic don open office on top you, If Civic leg get K....
Infact starting from 06 Honda civic uses same ball joint as Toyota.
My friend use 02 for 4yrs no K leg oooo, maintenance!!! He uses the direct tòkunbó ( Though it might expensive) for almost 2 yrs without changing it......

If you find a oil change sticker on the car, do not change the oil because that old oil is better than the new one they will put in there atleast enjoy the American car before the naija suffering begins. The oil is good for about 5000 miles/8000 km.
If the sticker says it was done 4000 miles ago you are still good for 1000 which will take you about 3 months minimum. stop by auty radu for your engine oil supply with the right weigh and buy 10 qt and 2 filters which will last you a year each. Don't buy the cheap 20w50 and use original filters
