A friend is into dried catfish, tilapia etc business.....his fish was rejected in netherland and france.....they were complaining about some chemical residues, the smoking process etc from what i learnt so far is , we need to start doing things in the proper way.....why are they not rejecting similar things from kenya, cote d'ivoire, ghana, south africa? |

It is obvious that many commentaries here don't understand the full implications of the EU complaint and the complaints objections. Think outside the box for once. Nigerians are struggling with fulani cattle rearers owners of the cattlles in Nigeria and possibly suppliers of majority of meat and milk products in the Nigerian landscape. Now majority of Nigerian have not tasted EU foreign meat and milk products before, so they don't have any knowledge of what they are missing. Both in terms of quality and costs to their pockets. Also the costs in terms of human losses due to herders/ farmers clashes. But one federal government officials is blocking the cows products supply to the Nigerian market because they are in power. Despite all the effects of such blockade on the Nigerian populace. Let me tell you that Mrs okonjo iweala is tactically complaining on your behalf to buhari government that the world is watching what he is doing, good or bad, concerning cows products in the Nigerian market wrt to fulani cattle rearers and farmers clashes. May the good Lord help your understanding and know the people who are working for you and against you. Besides, without this report, we can never know that the wicked government of buhari is blocking cows products from coming to Nigeria I am sure that the fulani government is blocking many other items without your knowledge because the various federal government ministries are currently occupied by only the people Buhari know. That is only people doing fulani bidding. |

Jaqenhghar:Diary product is not just for evaporated or powder milk ( of which I don’t use anywhere). There are a whole lots of others and subsequent byproducts including chesss, yogurt, fresh milk, whip creams . Go to the North, these things are common unlike in the south. |

Ellasure:All these for ordinary EU complaint over a product? Haba.. This is not JAMB that requires a straight single answer. If Nigeria chooses to address her strained forex supply by restricting import on some Products, she is exercising her sovereign right. Ask the EU farmers, are they willing to accept Naira? They will reject naira and opt for USD yet as far as livestock is concerned, Nigeria is No. 2 in Africa with the highest density and Africa has one-third of the global stock of livestock. It is a capitalist market where every player will do transactions that will give maximum profit and return. It makes no sense importing beef and cow related products and I assure you that even this herder-farmer crisis will be resolved eventually. And why are other trading partners like India, Brazil not complaining. EU should please go and sit down joor. We have no business importing beef and cow related products in the first place. I support CBN joor. |

sonnie10:UNFORTUNATELY? You guys are the enemies of Nigeria! Nigeria doesn't need to look for external enemies when she already had people like you and your likes. You would rather want Nigeria to continue importing dairy products and other agricultural products that we can produce here just because you believed that the dairy products are being UNFORTUNATELY produced in the north! What about the red oil that is being FORTUNATELY produced in the south? Should Buhari open a floodgates for red oil importation too? I don't blame you, many of you are lazy youth and unproductive. |

Ngozi should tell EU that a lot of africans are lactose intolerant, especially to that thier GMO milk that is riddled with hormones and making their offspring want to be transgendered. We don't want your milk abeg. We have kunu from killer herdsmen |

Ellasure:Without whose knowledge? May be you should try to read news about Nigeria economy and finance once in a while to be up to date. The lists of items banned from importation by the FG is on the internet for years, I'm surprised that even believed that it was a secret policy. And there is nothing EU countries can do about it if Nigeria as an agrarian country decided not to import some agricultural products because we have many other products we're importing from them already.

authority2006:Oga please calm down, within the context of what I wrote, the word unfortunately is referring to EU's action and not Nigeria. This is the same mentality that is pushing you guys to undermine others in this country because you always think you are more patriotic than others. Let me teach you how to read and comprehend a paragraph. Always look at the first sentence, then the next ones should support the first and not contradict it. |

sonnie10:Mr. Man I am a northerner and I am telling you those cows cant produce in commercial quantities. You cant get the real yoghurt ( the one they call kindirmo) anymore except you venture deep into the bush. The fulanis themselves now make their yoghurt from dano powdered milk ( the type they sell in sacks). It is cheaper and less stressful to make. Fresh milk is out of the question. |
