The Nigerian economy is deliberately built on monopoly. The Federal ministry of Finance deliberately create monopolies to benefit their cronies and acolytes in order to create immediate billionaires. The modus operandi is to skew the production and importation of goods in favour of their friends through tax/ duty waivers. A bag of cement costs anything between N3,700 and N4,200 because the government through the Finance ministry has created an uneven environment in which a group of monopolistic individuals have succeeded in having a vice like stangle hold on the necks of all builders and customers. The same monopolistic environment is being prepared in the petroleum industry where the government of the day has deliberately left its four oil refineries to go to the dogs while maliciously allowing an individual to build a monopolistic refinery at Lekki. When the Lekki refinery comes into play the price of petroleum products especially petrol will shoot through the roof the same way this individual has maliciously raised the price of cement. The petrol situation is just a deja vu waiting to happen! |

Average Nigerians who believe that Dangote has so much for the country find it difficult to think beyond their nose. Dangote is actually carrying out a secret plan for Jihad that would be executed against the Christians for years to come. See what is happening in Kwara State: when Muslim are a minority, they seek the equal right but the majority, they want to force their beliefs down your throat. Dangote is an exploiter favoured by this Northern government for a purpose. |

It's cheaper to import than to produce something in Nigeria. What an aberration! ![]() |

Nigerian elites and manufacturers are good at establishing cabals. That is what happened to the case of cement. The cement cabals fix prices of the commodities so that you only get to buy it at exorbitant prices. Therefore the concept of competition is defeated as the "competing" manufacturers actually connive with 'emselves to frustrate the end user with price hike. This is what is gonna happen to PMS when it is eventually "fully deregulated" as the government claims it needs to do - after several repeated claims of "full deregulation" over the past 2 years of their second term tenure. |

Dangote and his cabals chased all competitors out of the market so himself and Rabiu can have a stranglehold over the cement industry. You should ask him why the price of cement is the way it is. He is coming to do same to the petroleum industry so just watch out. Petrol may one day sell for N1000/L in this Nation. |

I remember when 5star cement owned by a Chinese came into the scene, he was a strong competitor In d market and the price of cement was forced to less than 2k, dangote cement sold at 1.5k as that time but it didn't take the government long to shut the company and halt their importations. Soon as they went down dongote cement price triggered again. Shame on the FG of this country. BeeBeeOoh: |

Are you surprise? When rice was being imported, we buy a 50kg bag for N7,000. Now that it is locally produce, the cheapest is N22,000. With 5kg of it totally stone. Nigeria defies all Natural and scientific laws...that is the power of corruption. |
