National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has disclosed that only three monarchs in Yorubaland are upright, describing others as “useless”.

The former governor of Lagos State made this declaration on Friday in Ijebu-Ode during a special prayer session held at the Central Mosque in the city to mark the 80th birthday of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Ogbagba II. Tinubu extolled the doggedness of the paramount ruler.

Speaking at the event, Tinubu, who returned to the country because of the occasion, urged the monarch not to allow some politicians hijack his birthday celebration and turn it into a political platform for campaign.

Tinubu narrated that, “I remember in 1991, 1992 and 1993 during the military junta, when the Yoruba was the target of the then government. They thought they could silence you, they planned to kill you, they planned to remove you through a local government, but they failed. They did it to Sultan of Sokoto and they succeeded.

“You stood by us, you stood by the truth and despite all humiliation, depression and attack, you remained resolute.

“I will never forget when you invited us to your palace for one of our meetings. When we got there and we were about to commence our meeting, we were told that soldiers have surrounded the palace with guns. You told us then that there was no problem and we should continue our meeting.

“You said they don’t know that there are many ways into the palace. After our meeting, you opened another door for us and nothing happened to us.

“You are not part of the useless Obas in Yorubaland who will sell out, we know them and it is not yet time to mention names. In Yorubaland today, you are the best monarch and that is not contestable. The good Obas’ in Yorubaland, who are forthright, firm and stand by the truth are not up to five, they are just three. Oba Awujale, Oba Akiolu and another. May you live long in good health and abundant God blessing.”

This is just absolute nonsense. The same EL-Rufai that we were told was not consulted in deciding the ministerial nominee from Kaduna state is now the one that decided that of Ekiti state. It is only a political novice who will not know by now that Buhari has a special interest in working with Fashola and Fayemi.

Senator Ojudu who made the strange comment is just being mischievous. He is in a battle of supremacy with Fayemi over the control of the party structure in Ekiti. That was why he wanted Falana as minister against Fayemi. Fayemi as minister will definitely have an upper hand in the control of the party. This is just local politics playing out and nothing else.

Why do you think Buhari is picking on Fashola against Tinubu's wish?

Buhari is propping Fashola and a host of others like Fayemi and Amosun to thwart Tinubu's undue influence and claims to his presidency.

And Buhari is very right to pick Fashola because given Fashola's meek and subservient disposition and his formerly high popularity among the SW Prolaetes , Buhari wanted fashola to replace tinubu who he intends to phase out.

This is why Tinubu is fighting fashola on the pages of newspapers and through his current puppet in Alausa.

Outside Falana being a typified ambulance chaser and his highly partisan approach in legal interpretation and sense of Justice which has eroded any respect I use to hold of him, the fact that Falana is being propped by that kleptomaniac drug trafficker, Tinubu is more than enough reason why Buhari should never consider appointing Falana as Minister of Justice.

The lame game plan by Tinubu in his draught logic in this game of chess, is to position Falana into a position that will serve his own selfish political interst.

You may recall that during the Yaradua impasse, the responsibility of setting up a medical board of inquiry into the health status of the now late president fell primarily on the then Minister of Justice, Mike Aadonka.

This is exactly what Tinubu hopes to do with Falana what Mike Aadonka refused to do.

Tinubu believes strongly that Buhari's health will soon be an issue and the only way he can secure his puppet Osinbanjo to be appointed acting President is to see that the President of the Senate and Artorney-General be under his control.

This is why Tinubu is rooting for Falana.

Anybody in the Buhari camp reading this should first and foremost consider this motive above others on why Tinubu wants Falana.
