Actually, Putin did not invade Ukraine while Trump was in power because Trump was talking about

1.Leaving NATO

2.Allowing Europe to finance its own defence more.

That meant that any country planning to join NATO had to reassess , and suspend such plans...because no one knew what would happen next. Including Ukraine. If Trump had taken the USA out of NATO, it could have basically led to the end of NATO. Russia was not feeling threatened at this point.

Once Biden came into power, he promptly reversed all of Trump's leaving NATO talk, which in turn made Ukraine immediately plan to sign up to join NATO, which in turn threatened Russia's security...hence the invasion.

The problem is, an easy way to invade Russia is through Ukraine. Ukraine joining NATO...future threat to Russia.
