Nuzo1: Yes, they got a better deal and the deal is terrorism that may lingers for a 100 years. Other way round may have been annihilation in less than 30 days.
Be aware that they never envisaged that. Middle belt, especially Plateau was a “garden of Eden” in Nigeria. The weather, social lives, tourism and peaceful coexistence.
But let’s even assume they knew they were going to meet this terror by working against Biafra, it wouldn’t have stopped them from still fighting Biafra.
The common, very simple and realistic reason has been what I’ve been trying to explain from my first comment here: they would have fared worse than they are now. They would have been conquered, converted to whatever and those who refused would be eliminated immediately. For now, they are still alive.
What does the Igbos bring to the table? (I never wanted to make this an Igbo issue but an eastern stuff) Are you being sarcastic here because I don’t have time for that.
Well, to answer your question, everyone knows igbos bring balance to the Nigerian system. Most Igbos I know abhor injustice and so are always quick to speak against one even when they stand to loose everything.
With all these resistance from the Igbos and these guys are being butchered like Christmas chicken, then imagine what it would have been like if the Igbos are not there…. Oga, 2 weeks is more than enough for these guys to be annihilated.
Set sentiment aside and try to understand where I’m coming from. You reason in one direction which is dangerous to your life. Who will annihilate them in 30 days? What made you think that the fulanis will be this bold if not the initial support they got from some southern Nigerians and the middle belt. You are full of sentiment at the same time advising others not to be. |

Nuzo1: Look, they never told you they will be perfectly safe in “one Nigeria”. Their point is that it would be far worse for them in divided Nigeria.. They got a better deal in being one Nigeria with igbos, that better deal is terrorism according to you. But what is it that igbos bring to the table made them want to be with the "parrasitic" igbos? |

Nuzo1: Yes.
But the point is that it would have been far worse if they didn’t fight for “one Nigeria” then. They would have been wiped out or totally conquered even before 1970.
And I tell you again, despite what they are facing now, they would still fight for one Nigeria if 1967 was to happen again.
It was and still a safer route for them. So why are they crying when they are on a safer route according to you. They should take it up their chin and behave like nothing happened/happening. |
Politics › Re: Gowon Town, Names Of 51 Plateau Indigene Killed By Jihadists On April 14 by presido11: 7:53pm On Apr 17, 2025 |
Nuzo1: Too much emotions. I understand and actually regret what they did to the easterners during the Biafran war. It shouldn’t have happened.
But the truth and reality of that time was that Gowon’s best move to preserve his people was to go to war.
This does not mean that an average plateau man prefers some of those northerners over easterners. He just knows that once Biafra secedes, his entire people will ill be conquered the next week.
Please let’s set emotions aside.
Let me tell you again, if 1967 was to happen again today, Gowon and his people will still fight to maintain one Nigeria for their self preservation. But if they were to vote between an easterner and a northerner in a presidential election, they won’t hesitate to go for an easterner the way they did for Obi.
Please guys, set emotions aside for once. I guess by self preservation, you meant the killing that is going on otherwise delete this your post. |

If this thing isn't curtailed now, it will spread (even worse) to other regions. Why capture terrorists and call them repentant, to the point of recruiting former enemies of State into the Army.. God what is wrong with Nigeria? How did we get here?? What is wrong with Tinubu and Buhari? |

Nuzo1: Let us always try to work with our brains. No sentiments.
Gowon may not have handled situations leading to Biafran/Nigeria war well, but for the most part, he did what may have been the best for his people.
If he had allowed Biafrans go, they wouldn’t have been any Christian middle belters by now.
His actions may not have been suitable for some people, but it was best for his people. The consequences of the best for his people is what we are seeing today. So weep not my Platue people. |

flokii: The population of poor Igbos are counted as part of South West because majority if not all of them live in the South West.. hardly will you find Yorubas in any part of South East the way you see Igbos in huge numbers in the South West.
You must factor that imbalance and anomaly into your stats & computation before releasing useless data to the public. Let Igbos all go back to South East, while Yorubas remain in South West.. then conduct the nonsense study again. population rich and middle class igbos in lagos helped in reducing your poverty rate otherwise you will be dragging with NW. Show respect. |

Nigerian man sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in South Africa for defrauding American homebuyer out of millions
The Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday, April 8, sentenced a Nigerian man to 20 years imprisonment for his role in a sophisticated cyber-enabled fraud scheme that defrauded an American homebuyer of more than R3.2 million.
Abdul Olatunji Samson, a popular nightclub owner, was found guilty of theft and money laundering, receiving two separate 10-year prison sentences to run concurrently.
The case originated from a complaint filed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and was later investigated in partnership with the US Secret Service and South Africa’s Hawks.
According to National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane, the fraud was executed by intercepting email communications between the US victim and their conveyancing attorney during a property purchase.
“Samson manipulated the communication by substituting the attorney’s legitimate banking details with those linked to a fraudulent Bank of America account,” Mjonondwane explained.
As a result, the victim unknowingly transferred over $200,000 (around R3.2 million). Investigators found that R1.9 million of that amount directly benefitted Samson.
At the time of his arrest, Samson was already serving a 12-year sentence for fraud in an unrelated matter.
The court found that this prior conviction was an aggravating factor, indicating a clear pattern of criminal behaviour. |
