When Obasanjo was so power drunk and wanted a third term in 2006, the entire Country looked up to the Senate for rescue. The burden fell on one great man, Senator Ken Nnamani, President of the 5th Senate, and at the end he STOOD STRONG putting Country first at the risk of his life and career.

Nnamani made sure that the proceedings of the Senate on May 16, 2006 was televised live to the displeasure of the powerful forces around OBJ.

Why did Nnamani do that? Before the day of the debate he asked Senators to go back home and consult with their constituents, to enable them agree on what to do. So he stood his ground for the proceedings to be televised live so Nigerians can see how their representatives voted. That singular act made a lot of Senators who already promised OBJ to withdraw and vote against third term. Was it not for Nnamani, was it not for that singular act, Obasanjo would have been Nigeria's Paul Biya. But to Nnamani it was COUNTRY FIRST. That was patriotism at it's best.

Just imagine for a second it was this Akwa-Ibom born Generslissimo.OBJ would have gotten LIFE PRESIDENT.
