The conclusion is that NAFDAC has taken the right decisions in accordance to laws and regulatory mandate

The issue is very very serious, over 70% of a certain important drug given to pregnant women induce labour is not fit for purpose, many are either fake, expired or spoiled, there is a very serious issue in Nigeria of women having difficulty at birth I know of at least two friends from my childhood who died during childbirth, I know of a few others who are my sister's friends and numerous stories, I witnessed the birth of my kids. There are also fake drugs for treating Diabetes, pain relief and other serious conditions.

Three major markets are involved and we have individuals who are not registered by the regulator acting as dispensaries and distributors of drugs, there is no place in the developed world where people in such a trade group and operate out of a "market".

The storage, logistics and distribution of drugs is a very specialist trade that is done according to strict regulations every where I've seen and I know a good few people who work as manufacturing engineers and logistics managers, QC etc in tye pharmaceutical industry
