A thief was beaten mercilessly after he was caught during a robbery operation in the University of Ibadan. A young thief has been apprehended by security operatives while robbing students of the University of Ibadan. The unknown thief was beaten mercilessly by a mob. He was also caught with charms.

It was reported that the thief came with an accomplice who ran away after people accosted them while they were trying to steal a phone inside Room A37 in Mellanby Hall. The thieves tried to steal a phone before an alarm was raised. One ran away leaving the other to his fate as he got beaten mercilessly before he was rescued and arrested by the school security.
