A digitally-driven project, “Tajiri” which is channelled towards empowering African youths and small scale businesses in Africa was recently launched in Lagos, Nigeria.

The initiative which is driven by the need to help the livelihoods of people especially young Africans, women and SMEs in Africa grow to the capacity in which they can drive the economy, aims at providing strategic solutions to the identified challenges Africa is facing.

Blessed with a population of about 1.3 billion people, huge natural resources, massive arable land and a youthful population, Africa is currently being ravaged by unrest, hunger and poverty – fueled by rising number of unemployed youth population, lack of opportunities and adequate support for businesses and start-up

Against this backdrop, the Tajiri team headed by Kabiru Abiola, highlighted five big problems that hinders majority of Africa’s small businesses from becoming financially free as; Cross Border Commerce Constraint, Financial Exclusion, Poor Infrastructure and Support for Businesses, Poverty and Rising Rate of Unemployment as well as Limited Global Digital Economic Integration

These problems have brought about the need for the socioeconomic empowerment project named ‘Tajiri’, which in Swahili means wealth, hope or riches depending on the context it is being used.

The Tajiri Project team is building a ‘Tripod Pillar’ to combat the identified major problems of the African economy as earlier mentioned. One of such is, ‘The Tajiri Financial System (Backbone)’, which aims to provide solutions that will facilitate ‘cross-border trading and exchange of value’ as well as financial inclusion.

They are also building the Tajiri Digital Economy Enterprise Lab’ which is aimed at facilitating digital economy integration for young entrepreneurs, women and small businesses in Africa. This is a deliberate approach towards building an enterprise lab that will develop solutions and platforms; which will enable anyone monetize their skills, knowledge, experience and passion as well as help small business owners go digital. Connecting them to finance, markets and professional support.

The last but not least part of the project plan is ‘The Tajiri Industrial City’ which aims at combating infrastructure issues, as well as the massive unemployment rate using the ‘Grid model’. This means that Tajiri Ecosystem will be having mini-industrial estates and business cluster grid for different industrial sectors across Africa, building platforms and foundations that will stimulate industrial revolution across Africa. The industrial estate and business cluster grid– will host and incubate businesses and accelerate start-ups.

The Tajiri project is built on blockchain technology, as the project team wants it to be a truly decentralized ecosystem, one Africans can do business amongst themselves, have access to and own a stake in, wherever they are in the continent. It shall be powered by a hundred billion units of Tajiri tokens called “TAJI, created on the “Binance” blockchain network which shall be the primary medium of exchange in the ecosystem as well as a representation of stake-holding in the project. Head of the Tajiri Project team, Mr. Kabiru Abiola, in a presentation held on Sunday, July 4, 2021, mentioned that “to solve all other problems of Africa, we need to first solve the economic problem. It is easier to do business with people outside the African continent than countries within Africa because there are problems of cross-border payments and remittances, he lamented.” We are in an economy that should better help people's livelihood however, people wake up and resume on the roads as beggars.

He also mentioned that there is a need for Africans to do more business amongst themselves and access better finance to be able to build on whatever skills or ideas they have harnessed. The main objective of the project is to provide long-lasting solutions to Africa’s Economic problems through youth empowerment and providing support to small-scale businesses for them to grow.

Abiola highlighted five big problems that hinder the majority of Africans from becoming financially free; Cross Border Commerce Constraint, Financial Exclusion, Poor Infrastructure and Support for Businesses, Poverty and Rising Rate of Unemployment, and Limited Digital Economic Integration. According to him, the limitations in digital integration in the economy seem to be pertinent amongst the major problems which the Nigerian economy has at the moment.

These problems have brought about the need for the economic empowerment project named ‘Tajiri’, a Swahili word that means wealth, hope, or riches depending on the context it is being used.

He further stated, that World Bank estimates Africa’s economic value at 2.6trillion dollars as at the last valuation, and this value is estimated to hit 5.6trillion dollars in the next five years. But, that will not happen if the people just sit back and do nothing to accelerate the economy better than what it is at the moment.

It was explained that every nation’s economy is driven by their small businesses, hence the need to focus on start-up entrepreneurs and small businesses. The Tajiri project is driven by Blockchain technology, as the project team wants it to be decentralized so anyone from the 54 countries in Africa can have access and own a stake in the project from wherever they are in the continent. Tajiri is a community-driven project; a project by Africans for Africa.

Kabiru in his statement however explained that the project will be starting in Nigeria; gradually extend to and change the other parts of the continent.

The second system of the tripod is ‘The Tajiri Digital Enterprise Economy (Lab)’. This is built to facilitate digital economy integration for young entrepreneurs, women, and small businesses in Africa. The team is deliberately building an enterprise lab in order to develop solutions and make it easy, especially for content creators to monetize and maximize their income, business owners to automate their businesses, and every African to have a source of passive income, providing them access to bigger markets, digital solutions that tackle economic issues and ultimately making more money.

Another tripod system that will be adopted to combat infrastructure issues, as well as the massive unemployment rate, is the ‘The Tajiri Industrial City’ using the ‘Grid model’. This means that they will be building mini industrial estates for different industries across Africa providing state-of-the-art infrastructure with the aim of taking a huge chunk of the bottlenecks off the shoulders of Africa’s entrepreneurs in effect reducing drastically cost of producing world-class goods.

The team’s job will be to coordinate and build the structures and enable entrepreneurs to carry out their activities. A fashion design entrepreneur, for example, can walk into an estate of his or her industry and rent all she/he needs to sew clothes for a token; which means the entrepreneur doesn’t necessarily have to own a shop or tools to carry out his or her business of the day. All these solutions will come together simultaneously to solve the economic issues of the continent.

THE PRODUCTS
One of the Products the platform is building is called ‘CREATAJ’. It is designed to empower people by monetizing their skills, knowledge, experience, and passion. It will also improve the rate at which people can use digital content to earn a living in Africa. Another product on the platform shall be “SMETAJ”, which is especially for small business owners. It aims at simplifying and automating business processes for easy evaluation, storage, and retrieval of business information.

All these activities and indeed the entire Tajiri ecosystem shall be powered by the Tajiri token called “TAJI”. A hundred billion units of TAJI (100 billion) has been created on the “Binance” blockchain network and shall be the primary medium of exchange in the ecosystem as well as a representation of stake-holding in the project, while “Mtaj” which represents the value of dividend emission on a regular basis shall be distributed to all TAJIRI token holders as at when due. A top gospel artist that champions healthy environment and community development in Nigeria is Toluwanimee, whose real name is Toluwanimi Ibiso Eleoramo. At 7am next Saturday June 26 this year 2021, she will be leading residents and fishermen of Jabi community through a program called MERCY PROJECT, to clean up the Jabi decongested lake in Abuja area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

For residents and fishermen of this community, Jabi lake serves as their major means of livelihood among other things that grows the community. Hence, this clean up will not only boost their daily income but will also save them from deadly reptiles and diseases like Malaria.

It is, therefore, to contribute her quota that Toluwanimee in conjunction with African Centre for Environmental Protection (ACEP) - a not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organisation in Nigeria powered by Kohath Group, will lead the residents in Jabi community in this fun and healthy exercise.

For the artist, there is no better way to promote a cleaner and healthier community than by volunteering to tackle out-of-control waste and unhealthy waste habits. "Join me and our fellow community members as we work to throw away bad waste habits," she enjoined

This environmental cleanup and health management awareness programme will build a better and healthier environment and ensure residents are safe from communicable diseases.

While also noting that the exercise would save residents from some deadly reptiles that breed in the area, the soulful singer added that it would also help to develop the community.

First, she continued, we will work with the local fishermen in the community to do a thorough cleanup of the surroundings and the water body, which serves mainly as their major means of livelihood.

Meanwhile the artist highlighted the importance of sustainability. According to her, they would sensitise the locals and others from the neighbouring community on the need to maintain a dirt-free environment and to adopt proper waste disposal culture.

Toluwanimee, therefore, implored the government, organisations, and individuals to help with equipment and facilities that would aid maintenance of the environment, enhance businesses, and boost the Gross Domestic Products of the country.

Hypertrophy is when the prostate gland has too many normal prostatic cells, also usually benign. Also Hyperplasia and hypertrophy is a kind of growth that does not invade the healthy surrounding tissues. However,Prostate Cancer is malignant growth that becomes progressively invasive,exhibiting metastasis; in this process, small clusters of cancerous cells separate from the tumor, invade the blood and through the lymphatic system and damage other body organs.

4. What are the Major Symptoms and Signs in Prostate Cancer?
Ans: Symptoms include, urgency to urinate,urinating several times at night, difficult urination, weak urinary stream,dribbling, incomplete emptying and recurrent urinary infections, general body weakness, and serious pains.

5. What is Glutathione and the connection between Glutathione and Prostate Cancer?
Ans: Glutathione is a tripeptide (very small protein) that occurs naturally within the body, where it is assembled by individual cells from its three components - the amino acids glycine glutamate and the all-important cysteine. Glutathione (pronounced"gloota-thigh-own" is the body's essential health AID – Antioxidant(endogenous), Immune cells repairer and Detoxifier. It is also refer to as the master antioxidant, because all other antioxidant (Vitamin C or E) depend upon the presence of glutathione to function properly. Glutathione is always in great demand and is rapidly consumed when we experience any sort of health challenges- illness, stress, fatigue and even exercise. According to Oncologist Bill Nelson, M.D., Ph.D. of Hopkins University, when a crucial enzyme called glutathione-S transferase - Pi (GSTTPi), an enzyme of the glutathione molecule is missing in the prostatic cells, the chaos that results from the enzyme's failure to do its job -- which is to protect DNA from outside forces that can harm it -- eventually leads to prostate cancer. Actually, research has shown this enzyme to be a biomarker in predicting prostate cancer at it is almost universally lost in both cancerous and pre-cancerous prostate cells. The inactivation of this glutathione enzyme has been shown to be early event in the development of prostate cancer.

6. What is the Role of Glutathione in Cancer Prevention?
Ans: (1) Antioxidant Defense against DNA mutation.
Cancer starts with damage to the DNA of a cell causing DNA mutation. Free radicals are pro-oxidants, a normal by-product of energy production in the cells and other cellular activities. Free radicals have been implicated as a major causative factor in the development of cancer. A 1996 article in the European Journal of Cancer suggests that free radicals be listed as an important class of carcinogens (agent that can cause cancers). Glutathione is the cell's major antioxidant that efficiently neutralizes the damaging potential of free radicals as soon as they form, before they can damage the DNA of any cell. Glutathione, not only prevent DNA mutation, it can also repair damages to DNA. Without sufficient level of glutathione in the cells, other antioxidants will not function correctly.

(2) Another cause that science have recently discovered, for prostate cancer is a glutatione enzyme deficiencies. Or another finding links the loss of glutathione activity to prostate cancer. The function of a particular glutatione enzyme - glutathione -s- tranferase Pi-i (GSTTPi) -.

7. What are the Possible Therapeutic Possibilities in Connection with Glutathione?
Ans: (1) Enhancing the production of Glutathione builds the Immune System against Cancer. Glutathione has been termed the ‘fuel’ for the immune system. It facilitates and regulates the growth, the replication and the function of the all immune cells, which are often heavily damaged by the 'Friendly Fire' of anticancer treatment. It raises the immune system's capacity to fight the cancer directly (i.e. Immunotherapy,a way to repair and enhance the immune system natural ability to fight cancer at the cellular level).

(2) Also,enhancing Glutathione in the cells Improve tolerance to Chemo and Radiation therapy.This lead to fewer side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hair loss and even leukemia (loss of white blood cells) that normally occurs during these anticancer treatment.

How to enhance Glutathione level in the cells
The fact is, you cannot eat or ingest Glutathione in order to feed it to your cells. Glutathione must be manufactured naturally within your cells. The YALI Network Face2Face Group in Lagos is organizing its maiden YALI Network Nigeria Face2Face ‘Productivity Enhancement Series’ workshop. The YALI Network Face2Face ‘Productivity Enhancement Series’ is a knowledge and skills enhancement based workshop that seeks to provide useful information in life and career that will enable young people take ownership of their lives, career and business.
The ‘Productivity Enhancement Series’ will be a series of workshops that focuses on key areas of business, civic engagement and public management. The series is meant to foster the growth of our individual and collective work as we forge ahead in the year 2016 to make an impact. We believe this knowledge will be found very useful by a large percentage of young people that want to upgrade their knowledge, network their way to better opportunities and also earn more influence in 2016.

For the first series, we are working with Gemstone Leadership Foundation – A Foundation founded by Fela Durotoye – Nigeria’s foremost Management Strategist and Motivational Speaker to raise generational leaders that will shape the desired future that has everyone in prosperity and governed by a common ideology based on the needs of the society. Mr. Fela Durotoye has agreed to be the keynote speaker. He will share with young people what it takes to discover and pursue purpose. We know that there are many young people out there that get confused with what they want to do with their lives, while there are many out there that feel they are not doing enough in making a difference in the world. This series of the ‘Productivity Enhancement Series’ PES 101 will surely put paid to such feelings and answer alot of questions as regards how one can find and discover their voice and true essence.

We also plan through this first event to kick-start the YALI Network Face2Face group in the University of Lagos. The event will allow for the creation of the YALI Network Face2Face Employability & Enterprise Club – A Club dedicated to teaching and disseminating useful tips and knowledge that makes undergraduates cum graduates work and business place ready upon graduation. It will feature a monthly meet-up managed by some group of volunteer leaders who will collaborate with the professional YALI Network Face2Face group in Lagos by inviting Facilitators from within the Lagos group to engage and train them on topics we have prepared to run through the session. Professional YALI Network Face2Face members in Lagos will be willing to share their expertise and knowledge as we embark on this Journey nationwide starting with the University of Lagos. The Volunteer Leader’s role and responsibility will majorly include getting the facilitators from the within the YALI Network Face2Face Group in Lagos and also coordinating LOGISTICS (Venue & Sound) on campus that caters for the success of the Employability & Enterprise Training.
