You are media schooled. The insecurities in the north is the work of Neo-colonialist countries like France, UK, America etc to explore and exploit our mineral resources illegally and nothing more.

How many almagiri do we have in the north nowadays? Everyone in the town goes to school. The current T-pain added salt to our injury by colonizing Nigeria to them through IMF, world bank destructive policies.
go and sleep. You're saying shit. Check the record all countries with a large population of Moslems end up with terrorism because you guys allow it up north. Give me one Moslem country without terrorism and I'll decitvate.

I am quite happy to know that you are a demon and a chief of legions of demons.

Subsides in the USA are paid from heavy duty taxes, so also a lot of infrastructure and development projects

The problem is, our income from taxes is less than 20% and our income comes mostly from oil money that is enough for a nation less than 10 million, not a country of 200 or more million.

That is how shitty our situation is, and also a part of (not the whole reason) why we got into debt.

You demons should stop bothering us, and you should stop being angry with me, because I am not responsible for Lilith abandoning you for Asmodeus. After all she was always something of a slut.
same oil that the US, Canada , and china produces is not enough for you.? Thunder will fire your hand you're using to type that.

your brain is filled with liquid maggots if I was a demon I wont even accept it to eat.

Just hear yourself taxing people to give them subsidy. That's like taking money from your left to give to your right does that makes any sense to you?

. Tax is used to provide disability and unemployment services mostly for the poor and aging population. The poor doesn't pay taxes.

We are independent. The problem at independence was that

1. A lot of people were poor

2. We needed to educate a lot of people fast.

SO, we had to get money quickly and the only way was by selling raw materials as much as possible.....industrialization takes time, and does not yield cash immediately. Also, there is a prolonged period of hardship before you see progress.

Initially it worked...that's why my papa's generation could go to school for free and get paid for it self....but from the mid 1970's our population began to outgrow the ability of the money we were making to sustain it, and by 1986 we had to accept sap....which showed that our population was way beyond the economy's ability to sustain it.

So, the way forward is to either use our raw materials to make products for the world...which involves things like total removal of subsides to attract investment, widen the tax net, and support industries that export....last one important.

(I did not say we should leave corruption alone, or that t-pain is the best leader in the world.)
I pity your useless life collecting 20k to type essays to gaslight people.

Even rich countries like US still pay subsidy. And tax doesnt fund development project

pay subsidy and provide security= low cost of production= foreign Investment = more employement= development = tax the rich to feed the poor

A country that massacred 3 million of my people and decimated our wealth by giving my fathers 20 pounds and up till this moment, there's no date officially set aside as remembrance day. The Nigeria state has moved on as usual when they commit atrocities.

A full banana republic where people can break the law and tell you confidently to go to court. Justice is only available to the highest bidder and most political connected.

A country with 20 million kids out of school. Basic education system is in shambles and teachers are paid peanuts despite their dedication to teaching students.

Should I speak about the comatose health sector and poor primary healthcare facilities? A useless country with high infant mortality rate almost twice the global average. Tueh

A useless nation with oil and gas reserves but can't even meet OPEC production quota of 1.7mbpd. fun fact:Iraq is doing 4mbpd+. Can't generate, transmit and distribute enough power for its citizens. Has the lowest per capita energy consumption on a global stage. Your current 4000MW can't power Bayer AG facility in Leverkusen.

Ranked 4th on the global most terrorised country following strongly countries like Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia.

Only one functional commercial seaport since independence despite having 700km coastal line, dilapidated federal and local roads, no significant improvement on rail infra Brits built to export resources since 1960. GDP is a lopsided way to assess living standards. You do that with HDI. GDP simply tells how much the citizens are worth based on the wealth it generates. However, for some places, it doesn't translate to a high purchasing power or even tells us how many jobs are available for new graduates. GDP by PPP actually shows the purchasing power of the citizens/residents in a country regardless of the population. China with its slightly lower population has a higher GDP by PPP than India. Nigerians, in fact, I would say some state residents spend more than many African countries' citizens.

Tech provides jobs, stable, learning opportunities and permanent than content creation. Content creation isn't tech. By tech, I mean actual jobs in companies within the technology division - software engineering, developers etc. So the posts by @MT are accurate - Nigerian banks pay their tech bros and sis very very well. Those people earn a lot of money. That's not content creation.
What is the HDI in Nigeria if I may ask you? Is it higher than Zimbabwe or Angola. ?

If the GDP per capita is low you think the HDI will be high?

the truth is Nigeria is truly and completely
well-finished but you guys are finding it hard to take it in.

And which one is technological division. You have no idea what you're saying. There is nothing like that.

yea Egypt isn't Africa it's Europe! Even south Africa too, scyelles, Mauritius, Namibia, gabon, Morocco, Tunisia. Because they're better for entrepreneurs than Nigeria. I mean far better

Once an Africa country is better than Nigeria it becomes Europe. And no longer Africa. You know nothing about Africa except Nigeria

To be fair, GDP per capita isn't a comprehensive way to assess a country's economy.

Agreed. The tech sector should never be used as a basis to assess employment opportunities in any country. It is why many countries still focus on the manufacturing industry to be stable, growing and being able to create jobs for many people. Tech cannot offer the employment opportunities millions of Nigerians need.

A major problem I have with this new set of "elites" in Nigeria - the country starts in Lagos (Lagos Island, Lekki, VI, Ikeja GRA) and ends at Abuja (Guzape, Maitama etc). There is more to Nigeria beyond both places.
yes GDP per capital is a way to measure the standards of living of people in a country.

The lower the GDP per capita the poorer the people. If you have any better metric you can state to measure an economy. If you don't then keep quiet.

even the tech you mentioned doesn't give any employment except you're a content creator and that isn't a job.

Congratulations to OP. I am really for you as I know it must have been a huge struggle to pull through.

As for the back-biting, I am not surprised as I have stated here that the older generation in the UK seems to be annoyed or envious (how easy the immigrant routes are these days) of recent migrants. Also, they have this classist mentality that "I have been here before you. So know your place". This is largely mired in poverty as it applies to other migrants from the developing world. Although, a way to counter such is to tighten the immigration system so that only the best and brightest have access to the country. Such as legal immigration to the US and Singapore. Indians in the US are highly respected than their counterparts in Canada.

As for people making it in Nigeria, that is very true. There are people who have very high-paying jobs in Nigeria and live very well (legal money). However, their conditions cannot be used to describe the entire Nigeria. I recall my ex-boss lamenting about Nigeria's politicians, people he praised regularly when he used the roads to his state or somewhere in Kogi. He was shocked at how dangerous the roads were. This is someone who rarely leaves Lagos without flying. This is the same mistake this new set of elites make every day - siddon for Lagos and Abuja then christen everyone in Nigeria as "doing well". To be fair though, I don't expect any less from APC supporters. The reason I don't debate the state of Nigeria with them. Although, I still believe Nigeria holds more entrepreneurial economic opportunities than most countries in Africa aside from South Africa. However, it is important to state that Nigeria goes beyond Lagos and Abuja at least for economic reasons.

The last two years must have been tough for Nigerian students in the UK (especially older ones who are married and with children). As I have stated countless times, should the economy get to pre-2015 levels, MANY Nigerians would gladly return. Many would still return anyway but at a later date. Reading their stories further makes me to be grateful towards the Japanese. I was so pampered and afforded ample financial and economic opportunities here. To be fair though, I had the requisite experience from Nigeria, attended a top university here, worked on the language and I am unmarried with children. Nevertheless, the Japanese have been so good to me, and I deeply appreciate it.
who told you it's only South Africa. There are far many African countries better off than Nigeria in entrepreneurship. Do your research Ghana, Egypt, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Angola... The only advantage Nigeria had was population and now that advantage is gone because the hardship is now too much. Benin republic now has a greater GDP per capita than Nigeria. Ewww!
